About Me

I’m Noah Kerner, co-author of Chasing Cool: Standing Out In Today’s Cluttered Marketplace - a new book on branding and pop-culture that I wrote with legendary ex-Barneys CEO Gene Pressman.
As CEO of Noise Marketing, I am tasked with helping brands like Chase, Yahoo, and Six Flags stand out in today’s clutter. Gene Pressman, my co-author, oversaw creative merchandising and marketing at Barneys for twenty-seven years where he brought high-end brands like Armani, Versace, Prada, and Manolo Blahnik to the United States.
Exasperated that companies so often think they can chase down cool and apply it like a fresh coat of paint, we wrote Chasing Cool to show that great brands are those that lead the marketplace, not those that chase after it. The book includes insights from over 70 of today’s business and pop culture leaders like Tommy Hilfiger, Russell Simmons, Sofia Coppola, Clive Davis, Tom Ford, Richard Meier, Tony Hawk, DJ Premier, and Christina Aguilera. When asked about how they achieve long-lasting relevance, many note that in order to get big and stay big you need to always think small.
