Dywanne

Dywanne Harris, a Godly man, anointed and appointed to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through my keyboard. I grew up in St. Louis and received my education in the Jennings school district. As a child my thoughts were to become a fireman. My family lived near a firehouse and I loved to hear the fire engines pass by our house. But, God had a different plan for me according to His will. I began playing the piano around the age of twelve; my first teacher was Dr. Robert Ray, who nurtured me for about one year. While in high school, I studied under the direction of my music teacher Dr. Curtis Duncan. During this time I played for various functions that were in need of a piano player. At the age of seventeen, I began to hang out in the streets. While out in the world I became involved in selling drugs and a member of a street gang called the “Bloods”. On May 30th 1992, a young man put a gun to my head with the intentions of killing me. There were three bullets fired at point blank range, I was hit in my upper right shoulder. God had his hands on me because the other bullets were knocked down by angels. Since that day I have been walking with God and he has been walking with me. Now I, Dywanne is heaven bound instead of hell bound and “I will not turn back for nothing or no one”. Now, since God has snatched me from the hands of the enemy and has placed me in His rightful place as an anointed musician, I have been blessed to work with many people from a number of groups. To name a few being Isaac Hayes and Sacred Praise. I have opened for such groups as, “Kirk Franklin, Hezekiah Walker, the Clark Sisters, John P. Kee, Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ, and Dottie Peoples. While playing with Isaac Hayes and Sacred Praise, I appeared on the Bobby Jones Gospel show and the Larry Rice Show. I also had the experience of working along side with the Allen Brothers and appeared on the Singsation program. Also, I played for Vickie Winans and Walter Hawkins. God blessed me with the opportunity to be apart of several recordings; three with Bethlehem Lutheran Church, one with Dawn” Diva” Johnson, one with Joy and recently Florence Lowshe, plus, I have also played on various recordings including Bro.Vance. While with Bethlehem Lutheran Church, under the direction of Pastor John Schmidtke, I had a chance to travel to such places as New York where I played at Eastman School of Music, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Ohio, Alabama, Mississippi, Nashville, Memphis, Indiana, Chicago, Canada, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Dallas, Wisconsin and New Jersey; where we ministered in music to bring glory to God.I have been fortunate to travel all over the world including a two-month tour in Germany with the “Golden Gospel Pearls” under the direction of Dwight Robson. I have shared my God sent talent of playing the keyboard while winning souls for Christ. Recently God blessed me to open a multi track-recording studio to bring glory to God. I have released Two Smooth Jazz CD’s with a dynamic Saxophonist (Rhoda Graham), “Christmas with Rhoda and Dywanne” and “My Inspiration”. I’m also very good friends with praiz and played keys on Deliver me, selah live, and today and recently worked with with Liquid. My focus is to continue to play for the Glory of God and by doing so I will be able to win souls for Christ through my Music Ministry. My plan is to record for the Glory of God and always glorify the Goodness of God by showing Him just how thankful I am for the extraordinary gift that He has truly blessed me with.
