interests, meh. i'm putting something else here:
things i have learnt whilst driving my car (2006 honda civic, aka 'zach')
1) my tolerance for stupid people completely evaporates to nothing once the engine starts.
2) zach is clearly a protective shield, because i've started pulling faces at particularly annoying drivers. i'd never do it if they could see me; so clearly they can't see me when i'm in the car. this also applies to singing at the top of my lungs to tragic 80s music.
3) accelerating in time with the increasing frenetic pace of pulp's 'common people' is not a good idea in peak hour traffic.
4) tapping your right foot to the beat of 'come on eileen' makes the gears hunt like f*ck.
5) if he's not responsive, it's not necessarily because you're driving with the handbrake on. sometimes it's because you're driving into gale force winds and don't know it yet.
6) making "zoooooom" noises when pulling away from the lights really does make you go faster.
7) every time i make a right turn, i automatically reach out with my left arm to prevent my handbag from flying off the passenger seat. even when it's not a handbag, but a person in the passenger seat. oops.
8) i wish i didn't have an irrational fear that i'm going to drown in a car wash. cos he's filthy and needs a wash.
9) even after a year, the light up display still looks like something out of the USS Enterprise.
10) it makes me smile to realise that when i walk into the carpark after work, i still say "hi zakkyboy" as i'm walking up to him.
people that make me feel comfortable in my own skin. i'm too tired these days to want to spend time with any other kind of person.
