About Me

DJ ZINHLE, THE HOTTEST DJ ON & OFF THE TURNTABLES

It truly is a world for women’s lib these days and we are all the better off for it. One woman who’s doing it for herself, big time, is 24-year old Zinhle Jiyane, better known as DJ Zinhle, who is making waves as far a field as the UK.

She entered the scene in 2004 and has gone from strength to strength rocking crowds in clubs, at fashion shows, corporate functions, cool bashes, and even the odd private party in SA. Currently, she is the resident DJ for SABC 1’s hip and happening dance show Jika MaJika and has a permanent slot on Yfm Mixing it up comes naturally to DJ Zinhle. She started out doing all her mixes from the trusted old Vinyls in 2004, still a favourite amongst some DJ’s. She has since moved on to incorporate CD mixing and now both CD and Vinyl is her forte. “I love what I do and the Lord has blessed me because DJying loves me back. I always try and apply care to my work so that I deliver to exceed people’s expectations.” she says It’s true, her love and commitment to her profession is what gives her the edge and makes her successful. No wonder she has been dubbed the hottest DJ on and off the turntables by fans and fellow artists. “I’m simply expressing my love for music and I want to share it with others,” she adds.
DJ Zinhle has earned her stars and is in with the right bunch of people. She jammed away in the UK at gigs in Bradford and London this year for the Youth Day celebrations - gracing the stage with SA counterparts DJ S’bu, Vinny Da Vinci, Christos and Oskido. Together they brought a bit of home to the ex-pats living in the UK. It was such a red hot and slamming show that she has been invited to return this August to do another set in conjunction with SA Kwaito stars “Alaska”
In a male dominated profession she is making her mark and assisting other female DJ’s to do the same. The Feminine Touch is DJ Zinhle’s brand and is testimony to all that she is. Her permanent slot also called The Feminine Touch, on Oskido’s Church Grooves show on Yfm every Saturday between 16:00 and 16:30 is growing in popularity not just with other females but the male community too. Oskido says, “DJ Zinhle is very dedicated to what she does. Many people enter the music industry for the wrong reasons but not her. She carries herself well in the industry and gives 100% to every gig and performance. We work well together and I value her commitment to our Saturday slot.” She is hard at work getting The Feminine Touch and DJ Zinhle out there and passionate about previewing young female talent. “Once a month on the show I invite a new upcoming youngster as a guest to mix on air.” In so doing she adds to the proliferation of female DJs in the market. In light of this she also spoke at the 2007 SA Music Conference in Durban, inspiring female DJs to survive in this industry. She says with joy that having a female DJ do a gig is a current trend and she hopes to contribute to this even further. Her view is: “If you don't inspire anyone, why do it?” Keep your eyes and ears peeled for DJ Zinhle’s first House mix CD to be released in May next year called The Feminine Touch Vol 1FOR BOOKINGS: Management: Zack 083 556 7546 [email protected] [email protected]

Sounds Like: OSKIDO'S CHURCH GROOVES 6 GOES GOLD!!

Oskido is back once again with a sizzling sixth instalment in the crowd-hyping, best-selling Church Grooves series. And it’s another slice of pure house heaven – one that reaches new heights for the resident reverend hit-maker.
Amongst Oskido’s other associates making their mark on this slick sermon are locals Mackson (aka Native) and Lloyd (aka DJ Dos Santo), and Mr. Mama, while the main man himself again lends his pulsating personal imprint to the mix by including a few self-produced, instant anthems.
They include Oskido’s first ever gospel track, ‘Modimo’
Brothers Of Peace reworking of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Talking About Revolution’, on which Oskido and production partner Bruce Sebitlo fix the perfect beat to a two-decade old conscious folk classic and turn it in to a tune altogether relevant to today’s dancefloors.
As if these numbers weren’t worth the admission price of the disc alone, there are more bombs on this non-stop soundtrack to the perfect night out (or perfect afternoon in!) from some of the European house scene’s current biggest hitters, including Ame, Henrik Schwarz and Booka Shade.
