I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm Andy Rea - I've just started a Political Studies degree at Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds University (wrong side of the bastard Pennines like), and I look like Meatloaf. I'm "a bit funny". I like football (Southport FC - it's basically a Care in the Community scheme), music, literature, comedy of all kinds, seeing my friends who are all legendary people, going out, writing and various other things that pass the time until my medication. Like I said, I am lucky enough to have a lot of great friends, and I'm happiest when I'm with them. I love drinking and having a right old knees-up with aforementioned friends. I don't like the word "emo" or anything it stands for. I don't like discourtesy. I don't like cocky or unpleasant people. I don't like the Conservative and Unionist Party of Great Britain. I don't like posh twats in rugby shirts who don't know how to queue at bars. Still, never mind. HRT rules!

My Interests

Music, football, politics, literature, history etc

I'd like to meet:

Roy Walker, Steve Chettle, Chas n' Dave. Failing that, anyone who's not a dickhead.

Music:

The Smiths, James, Stone Roses, The Last Stand, The Killers, The Fall, Joy Division, Led Zeppelin, Idlewild, Divine Comedy, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure, David Gray, Half Man Half Biscuit, Queen, Franz Ferdinand, The Futureheads, The La's, The Beatles, Faithless, The Kinks, Manic Street Preachers, Thin Lizzy, The Who, Simon and Garfunkel, The Clash, XTC, The Jam, Bloc Party, System of a Down, Horslips, QOTSA, The Stranglers, Reel Big Fish, Failure By Design, Apartment, *Armstrong, Kotki Dwa, The Motorettes, Snowfight in the City Centre, Prodigy, PJ Harvey, The Wedding Present, Gang of Four, The Stranglers, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, The Editors, Clor, Billy Bragg, We Are Scientists, Oceansize. Obviously the Fast Movers - "I'm talkin' here - I'm talkin' ROCK!" (go and buy our EP off Rob, now)

Movies:

Not a huge film fan, I haven't got the capacity to just sit down and concentrate for two hours. I'd say my five favourite films were La Haine, Schindler's List, Good Morning Vietnam, The Parole Officer and Anchorman ("I heard that their periods attract bears - they can smell the menstruation" - cheers James).

Television:

Don't watch it much. I love comedy, and especially I'm Alan Partridge ("don't rub your fanny on me!"), Big Train ("fat-handed twat!"), The Day Today ("PETER COLLINS IS NOT A MAN"), Brass Eye ("The twisted brain-wrong of a one-off man-mental"), Spaced ("Coffee and Kilroy? Tea and Trisha?"), Pheonix Nights ("IS it me - or do all pensioners stink of piss?"), Teachers ("I had a wank in the IT room once. What? It was breaktime!"), Peep Show ("Come on SuperHans - let's get you some crack"), Garth Marenghi's Darkplace ("I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards. What I was asking in this episode was, if the government continue to pay doctors peanuts, could they literally turn into apes? And no-one's asked that before.") and various others. Deal or No Deal as well - I am a student, you know.

Books:

Anything and everything. Cereal packets mainly.

Heroes:

Gordon the Gopher, Stephen Fry, Ross Noble, Tony Benn, Steve Coogan, Chris Morris, Steve Chettle and of course ROY WALKER of Catchphrase fame. What a king.

Leeds update

It's brilliant! I love my room, everyone in my hall is really nice, and I've got six, yes, six hours of work each week (not including writing the big massive essays, reading big massive books etc...

Road signs and piggyback fights

Friday night was fun - Chris's 18th. Plenty of strange goings-on in O'Leary's, Atlantis (especially - "Chris McAnus". Superb) and in the mean streets of Southport. We ruined everyone else in Southport...
