Movies!! I'm a total movie freak. Live theatre..anything from broadway shows to dinner theatre to community theatre. I love music and my tastes are very eclectic. Can't get enough of the water..ocean, lakes, rivers, creeks, showers, bathtubs. Love boating and sailing and jet ski riding..the water calms me. I love to read and sit outside. I love good coffee and hot chocolate and fireplaces in the winter and picnics in the summer.
Look out Johnny Depp, cause Barry Watson is quickly moving on up in my hearthrob crush category....
Don't even get me started... I love anything from Garth Brooks to Johnny Cash to Air Supply to Barry Manilow to Enrique Iglasius to Johnny Mathis to Kool and the Gang to Maureen McGovern and on and on and on and on and on. And I love the old stuff too..Beach Boys, a little Elvis, and the Rat Pack..how can you not love Frank, Dean and Sammy? And let's not leave out Chicago, the Eagles and Journey. I have a massive cd collection. It's scary to think how much money I have tied up in that..sheesh. I do not, however, care for rap or hard rock.. my jury is still out on the alternative stuff.
I admit that I like cutsey, sweet movies. Sweet Home Alabama might be my favorite movie of all time. And how about My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Another cutsey one. Honestly though, my favorite, bestest, most wondrfulest cutsey movie of ALL ALL ALL time is Seems like Old Times with Chevy Chase, Charles Grodin and Goldie Hawn. If you haven't watched it, you gotta see it. Yes, it's dated, and a definite 70's feel...but it's Chevy and Goldie at their best and the chemistry is fantastic! But, I'm a total movie buff...ask me to go to a movie and I'm pretty much there. My son, Michael, is the same way and fortunately, my best friend is too. But hey, I'll even go alone if nobody will go with me. Just don't ask me to see a horror or chop 'em up flick.. I don't do those.
Sunday night I HAVE to watch Extreme Home Makeover, Desperate Housewives and Gray's Anatomy. I like documentaries...watched one the other day on Pompeii and now I'm enthralled and can't learn enough about it. I watch CNN and MSNBC and if I ever get started watching Forensic Files (usually late at night) I can't seem to drage myself away.
I'm funny about books. I love to read but I go through stages...like I went through a stage where all I read was British chick books, then I went through a mystery/thriller stage. Basically anything and everything by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. (still have one to read) Sometimes I'm all about romantic books...ie books by Sabrina Jeffries and Sally McKenzie and the sweet, sappy stuff...like James Pattersons Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas and Sam's Letters to Jennifer...guess I enjoy a good cry, huh? Sometimes I'm in the mood for the cutsey, fun stuff like Lori Foster books. And then.. in a mood I'll get into motivational stuff and sometimes autobiographical stuff..like Bill Clinton's book or the one from Michael J. Fox. Odds are...if theres a book around, I'll get in a mood to read it sooner or later.
Wow, that's a toughie. I can tend to be a little cynical about heroes. Soon as you put somebody on a pedastal, they sure do fall off in a hurry. I guess my grandma would have to be a hero of mine cause she raised nine kids in a one bedroom house with no running water and no electricity and still managed to have long hair and a sense of humor. Geez, it's hard enough for me to raise three kids in a four bedrooom, three bath house and a big electric bill. Yes, we're spoiled these days. To a certain extent, I guess my Mom would be a hero to me...although she also drove me up the wall half the time. I know my Dad is a hero...he came from nothing, dirt poor and literally worked three jobs while going to school to make something great of himself. I don't idolize stars or politicians...with maybe the exception being Jimmy Carter...the man is selfless and way smarter than anybody ever gave him credit for.
