Music, music, music. No, I don't play or sing. I listen. Intently. I like to do a little crafting on the side too (I make greeting cards , do a little cross-stitching, that kind of thing).
Everyone. They're all worthwhile, for one reason or another. Or maybe no one. That would be a more honest answer, since I let my being shy be an excuse to live a socially reclusive lifestyle. BUT, if I could overcome that obstacle, then I do have a few ideas. Artists, particularly musicians. I envy their ability to create. I know I have a ton in my head but I haven't found an outlet for it all, and I would love to pick the brains of people who have already figured it out.
In no particular order: Kyle Riabko , Jeremy Fisher , Marc Broussard , Barenaked Ladies , Great Big Sea , Wide Mouth Mason , Queen , Jason Mraz , John Mayer , Joshua Armstrong , Beatles , Josh Groban , Michael Buble , Harry Connick Jr , Grease , The Sound of Music , Phantom , Motown , Golden Oldies , Bubble Gum 80s , numerous one hit wonders , Green Day , Prince , Moist , Keith Urban , New Kids on the Block , Clay Aiken , Darren Hayes , Savage Garden , Tragically Hip , Duran Duran , Train , 54-40 , old school Michael Jackson , old school Madonna , Seven Lies , Blur , Beastie Boys , all the awesome indie artists I'm discovering here, and much more but I'm out of time. Oh but wait, did I mention Kyle Riabko?
I love movies that are suspenseful thinkers that leave me dwelling on them ages later. M Night Shyamalan. But not scary violent movies. No Jaws or Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Saw for me. I have a weakness for musicals, especially The Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera, which are amazing on stage too of course, and Grease, which I have yet to see on stage. Being a typical chick and all I like predictable romantic comedies and coming-of-age type dramas. Man In The Moon (that's Man IN The Moon, not Man ON The Moon - I liked Jim Carrey's performance in that one and all, but Man IN The Moon is a very different movie altogether and I love love love it.). And every now and then I find an outrageous comedy that I actually find funny rather than juvenile, like The 40 Year Old Virgin. And on the flip slide, I enjoy that type of movie that is hard to say you really "enjoy" because the subject matter is a little tough to say anything positive about, but the film was amazing and managed to entertain as well as get my wheels turning, like Hotel Rwanda, and Everything Is Illuminated.
Confessed tv-obsessed. I acknowledge that I watch way too much tv and yet I can't help myself. Currently: Gilmore Girls, Amazing Race, SVU, The Office, Lost, CSI (original only), Without a Trace, Survivor, The Apprentice, ER, Numbers, Bones, House, Big Brother, Heroes, American Idol. And if none of those are on, MuchMoreMusic or MuchMusic or CMT or a digital music channel is. I know, I'm terrible.
Currently reading: This Life by Sidney Poitier. Last novel read: Crow Lake by Mary Lawson. Still on my mind months/years later: Angels & Demons, The DaVinci Code, The Rule of Four, The Red Tent. Authors often enjoyed: Dan Brown, Maeve Binchy, Lyn Andrews. For the weirdo in me: I have a small collection of Little Golden Books, intended for my non-existent children. Just planning in advance.
The every day ones. We all cross paths with them many times in any given day, whether we notice them or not.
