DEATH IS UPON YOU!

About Me

This profile was edited with CustomizeYourSpace Editor

I recently realized that I should become a psychiatrist. This is a little weird, but it's also very comforting to have found a calling. I like having a real good time. I don't like studying, but I love learning. I have too much smart-ish bullshit going on during the day, so I try to dumb it up in the evenings. By doing things like drinking, watching movies, walking around my neighborhood, and writing here . I like talking to (and listening to) people, especially people who are good storytellers. Humor, irony and satire (in moderation) are among the small set of things that make me want to remain on this planet.

My Interests

Research interests: CBT for Schizophrenia Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for depression Motivational interviewing for non-compliant non-psych patientsfilm, hip-hop, driving, contemporary Japanese culture and politics, indie rock, whiskey, animation, fear of death, motorcycles, photography/drawings/paintings, architecture, cooking, Dia: Beacon, PS1, robots, doppler radar, making out, youth culture, depression, Doctors Without Borders, contemporary art, garage rock, prosthetics, house parties, bars with good jukeboxes, stem cells, anxiety, personality disorders, aquaria, swimming/snorkeling, questioning the long-term viability of humans as a species.

I'd like to meet:

My least favorite thing about MySpace is random "add me" requests. The bands/DJs/burlesque performers/models/rappers I can forgive, since we all gotta eat.So, if I don't already know you, please don't ask me to add you (unless you fit into one of the aforementioned categories) without sending along a message explaining why you want *me*, of all the umpteen millions on this site, to be your "friend." I refuse to degrade the meaning of the word "friend" by having 20k complete strangers attached to a link thusly named. What I really want is for all my great friends--you know, the ones who I met first in The Physical World--to somehow always live within a 0-6 hour drive from me.But back to who I'd like to meet...Will Self , Ira Glass , science /math geeks who like to rock and roll . People who like to talk about things . People who enjoy cooking and eating. People who enjoy absurd , dumb stuff as much as I do. Not much time to meet people, though, unless they live in/around the neighborhood.
