My favourite song by the Fall is "Wings"
Scritti LPs should be treated thus: 1. Songs To Remember is exactly what it says. This is not easy listening but tunes that are stamped on the heart. 2. Cupid & Psyche 85 is a dreamlike proposition. 3. Provision = pop! glorious pop, suitable to be taken anytime. 4. Anomie & Bonhomie is better for the summer, and long journeys, but don't let this miss you out on it if neither of these things happen for you (eg in the extreme north or a small island). 5. White Bread, Black Beer, I haven't quite worked it out yet... maybe best for jumping over the moon...
The Enchanters V Sprawlburg Springs by Brian Costello. Lanark by Alasdair Gray. Owt by Zadie Smith. Douglas Coupland: 1. All Families Are Psychotic, 2. Miss Wyoming,3. Microserfs, 4. Girlfriend In A Coma, 5. Eleanor Rigby (his writing is so smooth by now. It does not get worse, but definitely fluctuates - I didnt think Hey! Nostradamus was anything to shout about, and it took me years to read Generation X, man that was lumpy). I haven't read JPod, God Hates Japan or Waiting For God, (or any of his non-fiction) so feel free to lend them to me if ya want to!
