I'm a film maker. First and foremost. I'm a writer. I'm an artist, and I'm a musician. I'm probably one of the few people you will ever meet that will look at any image or moment in time and say: "Dude, is it wrong that I have shots lined up and a whole soundtrack for this moment?"
I'll be riding in the car, singing harmonies to the music because it sounds better. I've got dozens of ideas for scripts, and less than enough time to get them done.
I will drop anything and everything if I'm given the oppurtunity to make a movie.
You will never meet someone as optimistic and as driven to make movies as me...but if you do, please...let them know I can always use a team to get all of us famous.
I live in one of many thousands of towns that is not glamorous by any means. This isn't Laguna Beach or The Hills or Newport Harbor. I live in Catonsville. It's a 14 square mile piece of land that I've lived in for over 2 decades. Until recent years -- I didn't realize how much I loved this place. it pulses with the people -- and hear me out, here: To be sandwiched between a city on the right with a lower class standard, and on the left to be closely connected to one of the richest cities in the U.S. makes the group very diverse. Some people come to escape, and the others come to prosper. Others are born here. I was born here, raised here, and I'll always have a place here. Living in this town is an adventure in itself. Between September and December, the things to do around here are rather lacking. And once School starts back up in February again -- it's pretty much lacking until May. So, You have about 4 good months to do what you want to do -- and even then people complain. It's not about what a town has to offer, it's who you know that makes your life interesting. When you know the right people -- you can never be bored. You can be driving across town talking to people, sitting in the woods somewhere, sneaking out and getting drunk or high if thats your thing -- there is never NOT something to do.
Maybe it's because I film it all that I see it all -- and not everyone else can. That's another reason why I do what I do. I stake my life on it. This isn't the only town in the world, and it probably will never be the best, but it's the only town in the world that I care about. We're here. Exit 13. Welcome to town.
ONE DAY I WILL:
1.) Direct a movie backed by a large motion picture studio.
2.) Make my epic epistolary film about Catonsville between the years of 2005 and 2007. (Aptly titled "EXIT 13"). But I probably won't pay anyone for their likenesses. Sorry.
3.) Be recognized outside of Catonsville for the film work I do. By a complete stranger.
4.) Put out a CD full of my John Mayer/David Gray rip off style.
