time for an update --
i'm now 23, grew up in Papakolea, O'ahu, Hawaii, lived in Los Angeles for 3.5 years, spent a month in Beijing, a semester in Aotearoa (that's New Zealand, if ya didn't know :) spent a month in Manhattan, enjoyed an entire summer in Hong Kong, and moved to Shanghai where i've settled for the next who-knows-how-long!

after spending a summer in Beijing learning mandarin chinese (my language skills are still pretty poor) and taking a history course here in Aotearoa, i've become very interested in chinese history! everything about china's past amazes me. my goals: discover more about china's past, present, and politics. yep yep, i'm a sinophile :D eventually go back to school. i know what i want in life and am having fun during that journey.

anyway, in the words of my old roomie, "i love my life!" and can't wait to see what lies ahead of me in the following years! i admit that i don't always love my life, but somehow things always turn out great, even when i think the world is gonna end :-P
