3% Rhino: Out of retirement on Nov. 3rd for Richie

About Me

The Farewell Video/Slideshow of the Rhino's Last Show. MySpace.com
3% Rhino is an infectious blend of multi-talented musicians and song writers. You will leave all 3% Rhino shows with a melody in your head and a song in your heart. 3% Rhino is an amalgam of poppy, power, horn driven, punk rock. We are all fun loving guys that are only in the music biz to have a great time and meet new people. What more can you expect when you are based in Helena, MT?
3% Rhino was formed in the summer of 2002, with different members, and played together for about 3 years. In the past year, members have left, and 3% Rhino went through a "rebuilding" stage.
Shane and Bryan Knudsvig are the only two remaing original members. They started the band and didnt want to see it die when the other members left. Shane sings and plays guitar and Bryan plays lead guitar and sings back up vocals. Shane writes most of the lyrics for the songs, and the group collaborates to write most of the music.
Greg "Gravy" Vivrette has been with the band for the longest, behind Shane and Bryan. He joined the band in the summer of 2005, and has been riding the wave of rock ever since. Gravy has insane talent and insight on the bass, and 3% Rhino wouldnt sound like 3% Rhino without him. He has been a vital and amazing addition to the band.
Jason "Stone" More was added to the band just a few months after Gravy joined. Jason brings the unique sound of trombone to the group, along with contageous energy. It takes Jason listening to a song once through, and he has all the ideas he needs for his amazingly poppy, and perfectly fitting trombone parts in each and every song.
Dub "Dub" Campbell is the most recent addition to the band. 3% Rhino has struggled finding and keeping good drummers. However, we think this trend has faded away. We have found one of the best there is. Not only is Dub an amazing drummer, he's even better at playing instruments with strings. On top of that, he can make meadowlarks cry with his stunning vocals. As if that were not enough, Dub has incredible song writing capabilities. He has written a few songs that have not only bettered the bands sound, but bettered the bands playing abilities. Dub also drums for a band called Cagematch to the Death . A band he started over a year ago. They have recently made a few "line-up" changes, and Dub recruited Gravy to play as their bassist as well. Cagematch is basically the exact opposite as 3% Rhino, showing off Dub and Gravy's versatility as musicians. Check them out as well.
3% Rhino continues to play as many dates as possible and likes to hit the road. We love playing with local bands such as JC Auto, BloodFactor 5, VFB, Team Owl, Los Companions, A Final Symphony, and many, many more. If you see we are going to be in your area, make sure to make the trip out to see us. We promise not to disappoint.
