UN3EK SY5TEM IS A WAY OF LIFE............

About Me

UN3EK SY5TEM
UN3EK SY5TEM is a growing Native American owned clothing company that not only represents Native Americans but also the modern underground art and hip-hop scene. Un3ek System is becoming to be well known for its edgy, artistic, modern, fresh apparel. It is a company that receives attention and gives a life-fashion lesson. It not only catches the eye, it creates a change in an individual style. Un3ek Sy5tem started off very small much like any other establishment with only two Native American individuals with a desire to create a business using their own artistic and creative abilities. The designers that have struggled, fought criticism, and overcame the obstacles in order to achieve what Un3ek Sy5tem are Native Americans from the Navajo and Iroquois tribe. Tyson P. a self-taught graffiti artist and graphic designer began developing designs that would soon hit the hip-hop and Native American culture by storm. Also assisting Tyson is Quishana B. a college graduate with the desire to eagerly reach out and helps spread the word of Un3ek Sy5tem with her own individual twist of art. Un3ek Sy5tem lives up to its name. The meaning behind “unique system” comes from the reality of how Native Americans lived everyday from their system of culture, survival, and spiritual beliefs. Un3ek Sy5tem believes that system is unique and without that, Native Americans would not be who they are today. Not only does the company name have meaning, the designs of each shirt have its own story. Every design is inspired by graffiti art, hip-hop culture, spiritual and Native American influences topped off with the creativeness of the designer. Un3ek Sy5tem is a one of a kind well thought out clothing company that not only clothes people, it inspires those that come across it. There have been many times that Un3ek System has changed someone’s way of thinking. On one account it helped a young girl realize that her artwork could actually become a career. Un3ek System is diverse and can be seen vending at Native American events, B-Boy competitions, hip-hop clubs, art shows, and music festivals. Un3ek System continues to raise the bar in designing to help others get out of the typical fashion scene. Un3ek System is a clothing company that doesn’t follow what is trendy today but creates what is going to be trendy tomorrow.

My Interests

UN3EK SY5TEM FASHION SHOW MAY 22, 2008 @ THE BLUNT CLUB

I'd like to meet:

Hi I am Q, co-owner/founder of UN3EK SY5TEM. I helped establish what will soon become what many would like to say a "success story". I have been there from the very first design to the very first place I sold a t-shirt (which was at Gallup Ceremonial with my mom! lol). I do the best that I can (you can even ask ty) So I hope whoever rocks UN3EK-SY5TEm realizes that the shirt you wear represents not only the hard work and sacrifices made to produce that single shirt. But also reflects the person that YOU are that is apart of what we like to say is UN3EK-SY5TEM. Enough of that lets talk more about ME...lol I love to go shopping! I try not to but its hard when you are with another person who loves to do the same thing (TY) I also enjoy music-my favorite has to be the rockabilly-tiger army, horrorpops, three bad jacks, Nekromantix(so hot), stray cats etc. However I enjoy different types of music. What I am good at is of course...making jewerly! I make different types..necklaces, bracelets and will be making more sterling silver jewelry soon. There is so much about me that i might end up filling the whole page so I will leave it at that and leave it up to YOU if YOU want to know me more. Please don't be shy or scared to say HI when you see me. (I get alot of that as I have been told)

MOHAWK DESIGN-The Oka Crisis: The crisis developed from a dispute between the town of Oka and the Mohawk community of Kanesatake. For 260 years, the Mohawk nation had been pursuing a land claim which included a burial ground and a sacred grove of pine trees near Kanesatake, which is one of the oldest hand-planted stands in North America, created by the Mohawks' ancestors. This brought them into conflict with the town of Oka, which was developing plans to expand a golf course onto the disputed land. The golf-course expansion, which had originally triggered the situation, was cancelled. This shirt design is a tribute to the Mohawk community of Kanesatake. Thank you for believing in true freedom and putting your life on the line for your people. You have inspired me very much. Thank you

First American Nation Design -This is my interruption of the United State of America flag. The term “Native Pride” had no distinctive meaning to me what so ever. I wanted to use a term that had a bold and powerful meaning behind it. “First American Nation” is statement that truly represents what UN3EK SY5TEM is all about.

SITTING BULL DESIGN-A Sioux chief, born about 1837. He was the principal chief of the Dakota Sioux, who were driven from their reservation in the Black Hills by miners in 1876, and took up arms against the whites and friendly Indians, refusing to be transported to the Indian territory. In June, 1876, they defeated and massacred Gen. George A. Custer's advance party of Gen. Alfred H. Terry's column, which was sent against them, on Little Big Horn River.

Eagle Feather Design-The first feather earned by a warrior was given to him for being seen as an adult member of the tribe. However, the warrior was not just given the feather. The warrior had to prepare himself to receive such an honor and that often require days of fasting and meditation. Each time the warrior earned a feather, he would either wear it (but he only wore a couple into battle) or put it on a pole used for special occasions. Once he had collected enough feathers, they were then made into a headdress. Because each feather had a special meaning, binding them together in a headdress made that Indian headdress even more special.

HUMMING BIRD DESIGN- According to the Navajo culture the humming bird was the special protector of the children. When a person had dipped a humming bird into corn pollen, the corn pollen was then placed on a cradleboard for the protection the child.

THREE ARROW DIRECTION DESIGN-The Three Arrow Direction is based off of three positive elements which are: Hope, Happiness and Faith. Using these three Directions can concur anything in your path.

BREAST PLATE DESIGN- The Native American Breast Plate is known as "Wakanda." It's Sioux name meaning is "possesses magical power."
