"It's such a simple thing, really. It's an awareness that the other people in the world are other people, and that you are one of them. That every time you have a chance to help somebody out, to do what's right instead of what you think you're supposed to do, you should do it." - Keith Olbermann
"Life is defined by how much you improve the lives of others." -Keith Olbermann
"You can be disappointed, but you can't just walk away"-John Edwards, 11/03/04
"Fear is a catalyst for selfishness and war. Sometimes I fear that we're losing our ability to reason."--John Rzeznik
"You would think weve become a society of complete morons. Of course, what has really happened is that companies and businesses are going to sometimes absurd lengths to protect themselves against lawsuits, which pose questions like, 'How was I to know not to put my finger in a working blender?'"--Dan Abrams, The Abrams Report
Because somewhere in America, because everywhere in America, people are counting on us to stand by them and to fight alongside them for what we know in our hearts is right. So let's stand up together. We have always been the party of promise who stood with the working man and woman, the party of hope who stood with the needy, the party of compassion who stood with the young and the old and the frail. It is who we are.--John Edwards"You either like a person a lot or you just don't like them at all."--Katharine Hepburn, 1934.
"The only security of all is in a free press. The force of public opinion cannot be resisted when permitted freely to be expressed. The agitation it produces must be submitted to. It is necessary, to keep the waters pure." --Thomas Jefferson, 1823.
"If you're looking for the truth, you have to shut up. Most people I know fill their days with meaningless bullshit, small talk, and trivial diversions just to keep the noise in their own heads down."--John Rzeznik
"I really believe that women have much easier access to their souls than men do. Because as men we're taught to wear masks, to drown out our emotions in competition and making money. Now women are being forced to do that too. But I admire their capacity to bear their spirituality so much more deeply than men.--Johhny Rzeznik
"I don’t ever relax. I’m not a relaxer."--Johnny Rzeznik
"Let's get our brave and under supported troops out of the middle east, and let's send the white house staff over in their place. . . .peace out. . . "--Robby Takac
"(1) crisp bacon, and milk . . .(2) v-8 juice . . . small can"--White -- "Strike out "crisp", I don't like it crisp. And be sure to strike out "milk". That is another thing that has hounded me all my life, like the tennis shoes. I never drink milk - well, I might with apple pie or hot cakes, but I very seldom eat those foods." White: What do you drink? Hughes: V-8 juice and water with my meals. (2) I don't like it out of a can that has been opened a long time, so if they use a small can then I am sure it is fresh. However I don't care if they pour it out of a gallon can, if they have just opened the can."--Howard Hughes
"Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events."--Sir Winston Churchill
"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. "--Sir Winston Churchill
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. "--Sir Winston Churchill
"It isn't sufficient just to want - you've got to ask yourself what you are going to do to get the things you want."--President Franklin D. Roosevelt
"Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds."--FDR
"We must teach our children to resolve their conflicts with words, not weapons. " William J. Clinton
"We can choose between the future and the past, between reason and ignorance, between true compassion and mere ideology." Ron Reagan
"I, Dan Abrams, am a Valentines Day scrooge. bah love bug. Thats right. Im one of those people, often men, who think we have given far too much value to this Hallmark holiday and I have had it. I mean, really... Now that does not mean theres anything wrong with sending your loved one something special today, flowers, chocolate, even a stuffed animal. How can that be wrong? But do we really need a commercial reminder to treat the man or women we love with care and respect? I would think that an anniversary or a birthday would be a more important time to show how much you care. I know some are going to say well Dan since youre not married and not close to it, youre just jealous. I say bah love bug. Ive never liked Valentines Day no matter what was happening in my social life and lets not forget for all of you lovey-doveys out there, what is a day of love to some is a day of reckoning for others, like two-timers. Private eyes and divorce lawyers say its the busiest time of the year. I guess its useful in that sense. It smokes the liars out that cant be in two places at once, so they get caught buying a gift for that other special someone. Sort of a Valentines Day singles revenge. Now the single people out there who dont get one of these squishy soft hug me dolls, which was given to a member of my staff by a man who loves her very much, this day could serve as a harsh reminder. bah love bug."--Dan Abrams, 2/14/06.
