Young Liars is the collaboration of two High School friends, who were brought together by their frustrations over modern pop music. Gideon Bensen and Jonti Danilewitz are the sole two members of the band. Through file sharing and working in their respective bedrooms, the boys have conjured a sound that is based around the musical stylings of David Bowie, The Beach Boys, Brian Eno. As well as folk sensations such as Van Morrison, Tim Buckley, Nick Drake and various others. While looking to the past for inspiration the boys also place significant emphasis on the modern ways of recording, by basing many tracks around various sampled beats, loops and grooves.
