These are a few of my favorite things: getting crafty; collage; alliteration; avocados; sushi; goat products; le vin rouge; yerba mate; irish coffee; yoga; consolidating tupperware; organizing 'round the board; procrastinating (Hey, I never said I was proud of it!)Licking things, (edible things that is, I better be specific to protect myself from dirty-minded folks, ex: plates, bowls, spatulas, and the lid to the honey bear!Crossing the completed things off my "things to do list" - Yes, there is something just so damn satisfying about it!Mountain biking and biking through congested traffic and maybe even pushing a sorority girl or two as they cross my path while yacking on their cell phones.Cooking plus food equals eating, and well I guess this brings me back to the whole licking thing!
People that I have not already met
Where do I begin? Trying to consolidate my musical taste into just a few sentences is as stressful as studying for the GRE. I can't take the Pressure! (Both Pressure Drop and Under Pressure are good songs!) I guess as of lately my ears have been filling themselves with Woods, Beirut, Micah P. Hinson, Jens Lekman, Grizzly Bear, Papa M, ClemSnide. And for flavor that I've stretched out through the years there is always Palace Brothers, Neutral Milk Hotel, & The Mountain Goats.
Girl on the Bridge; Leolo; Vidoq; Old Boy; City of God; Labyrinth; The Dark Crystal (See, I'm NO TERRORIST!); Vampire Hunter D; there's just too many! Many to most of the movies done by the following directors: Jim Jarmusche, David Lynch, Won Kar Wei, Coen Bros., Wes Anderson, I need to make a list of goodies as a blog one of these days! Umm, yeah, I'll just add that to my list of things to do.
If this is not the band that we are talking about, well then, the only good television is a broken one! Exception of course being the following rentable series: Carnivale, Twin Peaks, Invader Zim, Strangers with Candy, Arrested Development (Thanks Carew)
Margaret Atwood, she's grand, but c'mon I need to explore other authors. Lately I've become a sucker for suckling on words brought directly to my ear by books on cd. I can't help it, sometimes the characters voices are so fun, take Chuck P.'s "Rant" par exemple. I recently refamiliarized myself with Vonnegut on my roadtrip, he's always a sure win!
Future Bible Heroes; the ones that I can eat (if they are meatless, have good ingredients, and I'm really hungry); cute Japanese boys that sport such a victorious name, and good ole Joe Cornell
