SEVENTEEN CHORDS and a BOLD-FACED LIE!

About Me

Cone of Silence has existed since some time before the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The band was unable to warn King Harold of his impending doom because they weren't in England. Besides, electrical outlets, an essential feature of modern music, were some 800 years away. Nevertheless, they bided their time until 1992, when they released their first demo tape"Pop Explosion" followed the next year with a second demo "Doggy Style." Unfazed by the fact that the latter won the "Most Likely to Melt on a Car Dashboard" at the 1994 "Annoying Sickly Suburban Power Pop" Awards (ASSPOOP), the band recorded their first CD "Lift Twist and Jerk" with engineer/producer Marek Forysinski. Much gigging was rewarded with the record rocketing to Melamine status in Burkina Faso. Cone of Silence recorded their follow up in 1997, but it was not released until early 2005, to rapturous reviews, performances on radio and in clubs, and an invitation to play the International Pop Overthrow in Vancouver.

This is the first foray into this thing called a "blog." When I hear this word, I still cannot help but picture the contents of my toilet after a particularly satisfying porterhouse steak, baked pota...
