About Me

Eric Coomer is currently devoting most of his musical energy to his band KNAPSACKHEROES! . As a solo artist Eric has built a name for himself as a talented musician, singer, songwriter, and worship leader.Eric Coomer sings from the perspective of a fellow traveler who understands well the doubts and frustrations as well as the joy and laughter this life brings. Eric has never been afraid to tell the truth in all its ugliness and beauty in his songs. Nearly all of Eric's songs are autobiographical or biographical in nature. His songs shoot straight to the heart because they come from his heart.

The child of a father who is a retired United Methodist pastor and a mother who is a successful elementary music teacher, Eric has been performing since he was sixteen years old and writing since he was twelve. Eric is a native of Kentucky and now resides in Nashville with his wife, Daphne.

A multi-instrumentalist and talented vocalist, Eric resists the common urge to classify his acoustic driven music, as it encompasses so many styles and genres. Artistically, his biggest influences include Over the Rhine, Sixpence None the Richer, Coldplay, Simon and Garfunkel, Derek Webb, and many others. Never satisfied sounding like anyone else, Eric strives to be an original and veer away from the ordinary.

Although not solely a worship musician, Eric regularly leads worship for his church and is actively pursued to lead worship by other organizations and groups.
