Pastor Holt has been involved in Christian ministry for over 26 years. He has gained valuable schooling and ministry experience that has helped him immensely in Pastoral Ministry. His ministry training began in Jacksonville, NC under the direction of District Superintendent, Elder E.A. Perry, Pastor, United Temple COGIC Inc., (renamed Bethel Word Ministries, Inc.). Serving an 18-month (1982-1984) Lay Apprenticeship in Christian Education (Youth and Adult).Transferring to Okinawa Japan (1984), he served a one-year Lay Apprenticeship in International Evangelism and Adult Christian Education under the direction of Bishop Archie Buchanan, Jurisdictional Bishop of the Far East Jurisdiction, Church of God in Christ, Inc. After his return to the United States, he served a three-year (1985-1988), Ministerial Apprenticeship in Urban Evangelism, Christian Education and Management (serving as Dean of the Laymen’s School of Ministry) and Church Administration and Systems Management under Elder Thomas Hammonds, Regional Superintendent and Pastor, Friendly COGIC Inc., Southern California Jurisdiction, Church of God in Christ Inc.Finally, he served an 11 year (1988-1999) Ministerial Apprenticeship under Bishop Samuel L. Green Jr., General Board Member, Church of God in Christ, Inc., Memphis TN.; Prelate of the 2nd Jurisdiction, Virginia, Church of God in Christ, Inc., in Pastoral Ministry and Administration, Church of God in Christ Polity, Ministerial and Ministry Ethics, Christian Education and Management, Youth and Urban Ministry (that included founding a boys activity group called the Pathfinders and working with incarcerated youth in the Newport News and Hampton Juvenile Detention Centers) and Mass Communications with emphasis on the effective use of Media in Ministry. Since 1999 he has been pastoring Saints Community Church of God in Christ in Chesapeake Virginia…he believes pastoring is the best job anyone has ever been offered.
