Believe That You Can Make A Difference

About Me

Kwe is an ever evolving business/movement aimed at supporting impoverished and misfortuned children around the world. Kwe means "believe" in Haitian Creole, we at Kwe believe that we can make a positive difference. Kwe is a charitable organization which sells t-shirts and runs school clubs in order to raise money for various causes. kwe is run by a group of highschool students, and none of the money raised goes back to their pockets.Currently Kwe is supporting an orphanage in Haiti. We have a close relationship with some of the workers at this orphanage and we are sure that we can help support it.Haiti is only the first step for Kwe, because Kwe is a movement it is constantly growing and changing. Other teens throughout Washington have joined the movement and created branches of kwe. These branches each take on their own projects, so instead of supporting Haiti, they will find other organizations throughout the world to support.Kwe has had a lot of recent success. At this point in time all the t-shirts crafted by kwe are 100% made by hand. We put our creative brilliance and heart into every single shirt we make, and every shirt is unique in its own way. We sell these shirts at all sorts of events and locations, local markets, churches, schools, camps, concerts. The shirts run for 15 dollars a piece and come in various designs and colors. There is a place for everyone in Kwe. This organization isn't about making anyone look good, or about amassing wealth or power, it is about making a difference. For too long people have chosed to be apathetic. Many people believe that it is not their responsiblity to worry about others, but at Kwe there is a completely different philosophy. We believe that it is everyone's responsibility to help those around them, and that without this unity, without this bond, the world falls apart. We are looking for people who understand this concept. If you are an artist, we accept donations of art, if it is a paining or a photograph or a scultpure or simply anything other than a shirt design, we'd love for you to contact us and mail it out. We are collecting these to sell at auctoins. If you have t-shirts designs, email them to us and we will see what we can do with them. If you want to become a part of Kwe you may also start a branch in your town, or start a club at your school.Although Kwe is a business, it is also a movement. If you are passionate about helping others, if you are an entrepeneur, or an artist, or simply someone who wants to bring about a positive change, then join the movement. Remember that change only comes when we unite in our beliefs. So help us make a difference in ourselves, our communities, and our world.

My Interests

As a business we are interested in supporting orphanages in third world countries, more specifically by providing them with funds to provide a decent education for the children. We at Kwe believe that education is key for a community to overcome poverty.

I'd like to meet:

We'd like to meet anyone and everyone who has an insatiable desire to ameliorate the world and anyone who truly believes in the power of compassion and action.

Heroes:

Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Biko, Jean Dominique, leaders who have sought to make the world a better place, regardless of their situation. The children who wake up every day without food or water or clothing, yet who still walk around with a smile. The kids here in America who choose to take a stand for love and for change.
