Plot Outline: The exploits of a group of men and women who serve the City of New York as police officers, firemen, and paramedics in the fictional 55th Precinct.
Theme Song: "Keep Hope Alive" by The Crystal Method from their "Vegas" cd
Maurice "Bosco" Boscorelli is a New York City police officer. He is a fearless cop who is also glory-hungry. His partner was Faith until she became a detective. For a time he worked in Anti-Crime with Maritza Cruz. During a shooting at Angel of Mercy Hospital, Bosco was critically injured and spent some time recuperating in hospital. He recently was released and came back to work. When the precinct closed down, Bosco transferred to Bed-Stuy. Now he's doing what he does best--kicking ass and just being a cop.
Sgt. Maritza Cruz worked with the Anti-Crime unit of the 55th precinct. She was known to do drastic things to get her job done. After gangster Marcel Hollis attacked the precinct, Cruz went after him. She made the ultimate sacrifice when she pulled the pins off two bombs and blew up his hideout, destroying guns and other weapons, saving many innocent lives. She was awarded the Medal of Honour after her death. Every morning, former partner Santiago visits her grave and lays a single rose there.
Faith Yokas used to be a New York City police officer until her promotion to Detective. She now works with fellow detective "Jelly" Grimaldi, but before that she worked with Bosco. Faith is the mother of Emily and Charlie Yokas. She has gone through many hardships such as: an abortion, breast cancer, a shooting that temporarily paralayzed her, and her recent divorce from husband Fred. After the 55th precinct closed, Faith transferred. She got a surprise-her boss, who turned out to be Lt. Miller. Faith and Miller are thinking of moving in together after Emily finishes college.
Tyrone Davis, Junior is also a police officer. His partner is Sully, who was also partners with Ty's father before he was killed in the line of duty when Ty was only a kid. Ty shares an apartment with FDNY paramedic Carlos Nieto. His girlfriend is Sasha Monroe, whom was once pregnant with his baby but lost the child. They're thinking of getting married someday, after their careers slow down a bit. After the precinct closed, Ty became an Anti-Crime Lieutenant. He works with Brendan Finney.
Brendan Finney was a rookie cop, son of IAB Captain, Cathal T. Finney, who recently committed suicide. After the precinct closed, Brendan became a Sgt. of Anti-Crime. He and Grace Foster, his wife, are celebrating their first anniversary next week. They have one child so far.
Officer Sasha Monroe is also a police officer. She had a brief relationship with Ty Davis until he found out that she was an IAB detective. Sasha was pregnant with Ty's baby until she lost it in a shooting. When Ty found this out, he and Sasha got back together. They're thinking of getting married someday. After the closure of the precinct, she ran for city council.
John "Sully" Sullivan is a long time police officer of the NYPD. He is partners with Ty Davis Jr, and before that, with Ty's father, the late Ty Davis Sr. Sully fell in love with his Ukranian neighbour, Tatiana, who he later married. Sadly, however, Tatiana had been involved with Russian mafia years before and was later killed by its members. Sully fell into depression, but with the help of partner Ty, soon was back to normal. After the precinct closed down, Sully retired. He's now found his own little piece of heaven in the wilderness by a lake.
Alex Taylor was a firefighter/paramedic until she died in the line of duty, working on a burning car. She had a brief relationship with Ty Davis.
Roberto "Bobby" Caffey was a paramedic and partners with Kim until he was shot by his best friend during a fight.
Carlos Nieto is a FDNY paramedic who was partners with Doc. For a time he pursued a pre-med degree, but later gave up, realizing a paramedic was what he was meant to be. He dated the mentally unstable Vangie Evans, until she became pregnant with his daughter, Kylie. After Vangie died in a traffic accident, Carlos looked after Kylie and finally gave her up for adoption, realizing she would be better off with adoptive parents. Carlos grew up as a foster child. Carlos fell in love with fellow paremedic Holly Levine and married her. They now live in a big house on Staten Island with their three kids. Carlos finally has the family he's always wanted.
Monte "Doc" Parker was a successful FDNY paramedic until he was sent to Bellevue Mental Institution. Doc's partner was Carlos and he even won the "Paramedic of the Year" award. Doc fell in love with emergency room Dr. Sarah Morales. They became engaged, but Morales wanted to move away for her job but Doc didn't, so they broke up. When threats came up to close the firehouse, Doc shot the firehouse captain. He was sent to Bellevue but saved the firehouse.
Holly Levine is a paramedic. She fell in love with Carlos Nieto and they are now married with three kids.
Grace Foster is a new paramedic. Her mother was a war nurse and is currently homeless. Grace is married to Brendan Finney and they have one child so far.
Jimmy Doherty was a FDNY firefighter until he joined a FD team. He is the proud father of son, Joey, and recently remarried his ex-wife, Kim Zambrano. His other ex-wife is Brooke.
Kim Zambrano was a FDNY paramedic until her retirement recently. Kim was married to firefighter Jimmy Doherty for a few years, and they had a son, Joey. However, she caught him sleeping with her sister and divorced him. After her partner, Bobby, died, Kim sank into depression and even attempted suicide. A few years later, Kim and Jimmy started to date each other again, and when Kim discovered she was pregnant with Jimmy's baby, Jimmy asked her to marry him(again), promising he would be better this time. At first, Kim was hesitant, but after a while, agreed. Jimmy joined an elite FD team and Kim retired to be with Jimmy.
