Biography:
Born in Caracas, Venezuela on the 10th of May, Jean Carlos has come a long way, and worked very hard to be able to accomplish his goals. He tried a few different paths before deciding to become a DJ, or even enter the electronic music industry. There are many more options here than in Caracas. Carlos grew up in two completely different cultures, two countries far apart in more than one way. This not only influenced his personality but it translates into his own musical style as well. Jean Carlos is strong minded, at times he can be stubborn but, he is also a good friend.
While Venezuela is rich in culture it is a financially poor country where the value of the clothes on ones back and the food on the table is very apparent. Living here in North America where the culture is poor but the standard of living is so high that clothes and food are not things on our mind, it is hard for us to understand where JC comes from. Carlos Latin roots come through in many things, his process of thinking, the music he plays, the way he talks and the way he behaves, passionate about the things he likes and passionate about the things he dislikes. You can feel some influence of Canada, or North America in him too, but when he plays music the South American drums cannot be ignored. Many of the tracks he plays have Latin elements to them, though some of the more American and European sounds are creeping into his sets as well. He has found a way to blend Latin, European, and North American sounds into his own kind of sound.
J.C.s ability to stay loyal, stand his ground and influence others is uncanny. He just seems to be one of those people that others listen to. The type of person that is good at delegating tasks, managing subordinates and also working under a person with similar qualities. While people may not always agree with his strict principles, strong opinions, and sometimes outrageous demands; he still manages to maintain a great personal and professional relationship with those around him.
Carlos was introduced into a festive environment almost from birth. His family put on parties in the home country where people would take in the festivals for days at a time. DJing is something he watched at a very young age as well. Many of JCs relatives, whether it was his uncle or his cousins, played at the festivals and he would watch them perform live music or DJ sets. When Carlos moved to Canada he showed interest in music, but school took the front seat as the culture here is more involved in building a profile that is poised to succeed financially by securing employment through highly sophisticated education. Before getting into the electronic music industry, Carlos tried getting into real estate and he went to school for sound engineering. Boa Redux was the first club he became a part of, starting out as a new promoter in the scene, he quickly learned the ropes of the business and was offered employment with Most Wanted Entertainment, an industry leader. He worked at Most Wanted as a booking agent, representing their roster of talent in South America. From there, his ambitions were clear to him; representing himself with his own company, and having his own events.
Jean Carlos started Seductions Productions with partners Christopher Robinson and Khalid Patel. Today the company is growing and will soon emerge as an industry leader. Through this company many of Jean Carlos dreams are being realized. Seductions Productions not only represents him, but Christopher Robinson and a growing roster of local gems hand picked by SPs very critical staff. Along with his like-minded staff and partners JC is now in a position to expand his company and work on furthering his DJing career. A long way from the little boy in Caracas, now a man who has proven his drive to excel in the world of electronic music.
The legendary Friday nights are moving to a brand new location in Hamilton, Ontario - they'll feature some of Canada's best DJs (Paranoid Jack, Jean Carlos, Kenny Glasgow, Christopher Robinson, Nathan Barato, Carlo Lio, Simon Jain, DJ Addy, Honey Dijon, and many more.)
