REAL people. I'm bored with all of the "plastic" associated with our fabulous city. People who know who they are, and can have a good time minus the drama and pretentiousness. Genuine people without alterior motives. People who LOVE music and share the same passion for that one, common, unified, soulful, vibe. Also, other fellow DJ's, artists, musicians, media whores, snowboarder chicks, soccer moms, librarians, and all females rockin' sleeves!! :) G-YEA-YEAH!!
MUSIC has always played a powerful role in my life. Whether it was the constant exposure of my DAD waking us up to instrumentals, playing the piano and guitar, or was it the introduction to DJ'ing and hands on from my guy DRU? Whatever it was, It was all about MAKING MUSIC. I really didn't get serious about my music until I had my own set of turntables, mixer, speakers, amp, and started buying records. I love playing records, and love using SERATO. Hip-hop, deep-sexy house, reggae, latin-jazz, good ol classic rock and roll, some metal, some classical, alternative, down tempo, D&B, instrumentals, and mash-ups.
COMEDY first: Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Dave Chapelle, Will Ferrell, Chris Tucker, Adam Sandler. ACTION second: Bruce Lee, Robert DeNiro, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Al Pacino, Jet-Li, James Bond. Old school kung-fu movies and some porn too.
Anything that has to do with the UFC, or mixed-martial arts (PRIDE, K-1, IFL, WEC & Ultimate Fighter. I'll watch Entourage and reruns of FRIENDS. Also, FUEL-TV, DISCOVERY CHANNEL, TLC, ESPN, SPIKE TV.
I read a majority of books growing up, but haven't done much reading since high school and college. I have read two books recently that everyone should: THE SIX FUNDAMENTALS OF SUCCESS by STUART R. LEVINE, & THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE by STEPHEN R. COVEY. Some great reading for self help. But I enjoy reading the basic male periodicals: PLAYBOY (for the articles), VEGAS MAGAZINE, MAXIM, STUFF, FHM, & TATTOO.
First and foremost, my DAD. Although he's no longer with us, he still lives in my heart. He was a great man. A doctor, a father, an artist, a musician, a builder, a comedian, and always a gracious host and entertainer. R.I.P. POPS. Also, my MOM. She is an incredibly strong willed and driven woman. She was the lead R.N. in several Operating Rooms from a couple of hospitals, but now she runs a successful business along with my aunt who is also an R.N. She has dealt with a lot of shit that most people would've gave up on. I'm very fortunate of her perseverance and generosity as a parent, and her unconditional love she has taught as a mother. THANKS, MOM. Then it goes: BOB MARLEY, BRUCE LEE, HUGH HEFNER, RANDY COUTURE, LANCE ARMSTRONG, NORM ABRAMS, TRAVIS PASTRANA, CHIP FOOSE, and my tattoo guy DAVE HORTON over @ PRIC'Z TATTOO for slingin' some of the sickest ink on me. And you can't forget all the MEN & WOMEN in the armed forces who fight and have fought for our FREEDOM. (this goes for the heroes in 9/11 and our troops in Iraq) THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
