About Me

I spend the better majority of my week caring for, learning about, and teaching guests about the 23 species of crocodilians and other various members of the reptile family...
As my profile song suggests, I have a bit of wanderlust - which may perhaps be a slight understatement. I have no intention of settling any time soon, there's too much world out there to explore....I have high ambitions, which include a wealth of traveling, field research, and education. I'm in the process of working on my most recent endeavor to get me out into the world which means that, in 8 months time, I'll hopefully be somewhere in the Pacific Islands or central Asia somewhere with the PeaceCorps teaching environmental education...Then again, I could just sell all my worldly possessions and move back to BrisVegas (how I miss it!)...

My Interests

My babies - ie, my 3 snakes: T, Craven and ZiegenBoch.
Crocodilians; carnivores in general;
traveling;
AUSTRALIA!!!;
Celtic history/mythology
hiking; horseback riding; fishing; hunting; reading

I'd like to meet:

At one point I would have definitely said Steve Irwin - I was at the Australia Zoo once, but he wasn't there that day....I guess now I have to amend my list and say anyone of a different background or from another country - there are always enlightening conversations to be had...Also, anyone game for a chat about ecology, conservation, evolutionary biology, and/or reptiles (or any other intelligent topic).

Music:

I listen to everything from Aaron Watson (good ol' Texas Country) to Lee Kerneghan & Adam Brand (Australian country) to Godsmack and Rob Zombie...not so much into rap, pop or boy bands (or girl bands for that matter), but I definitely dig the 80s hair bands - gotta love Bon Jovi!

Movies:

Depends on my mood....just so long as it doesn't kill too many brain cells to sit through...Boondock Saints is always a winner.

Television:

I work two jobs at about 60 hours a week - TV does not comprise a significant portion of my life...if I do watch, it's typically "Without A Trace", "Law & Order", or "Supernatural"

Books:

I LOVE to read...fiction or non-fiction...I'm particularly fond of books on Celtic history/mythology or pertaining to ecology and science in general; National Geographic Magazine

Heroes:

My parents, of course...how could they not be my heroes when they're the ones supporting a daughter that plays with crocs?!?
