About Me

Christine de Pavilly is a classically trained bel canto soprano with a three and a half octave range. She has been writing music since the age of nine and has completed nine albums to date; she also writes fiction and some poetry.

Welsh on her mother's side and supposedly distant Normandy French on her father's - I guess that means you have been warned...

New single released

Motorbikes and Music

It's a lovely sunny day so I thought I'd take the big bike apart. Well, I have to: he needs a new frame or else, as my guys at the Honda workshop told me, he has to be 'put out to pasture'. No, sorry,...

Hoooo-ahhh!

Album finished, just the final mix tweaks to do. Suppose I should really start looking at putting a band together and doing some gigs... Can I face all the non-starters and unreliables though? This ...

Getting closer

Phew - only one more full song to record and a harmonica part on another song (now I have to learn to play harmonica, hmmm). Why am I already thinking about the next album? Why? What am I, some kind o...

London Buses

You wait for ages and then three of them come along. My head has been a bit like that lately. Too busy to blog, or too knackered. Going to see Christine Tobin sing on Friday - YAY! Been looking forwar...

Steamrollered again

Assassins. I wouldn't mind but they send my head in non-musical directions (although sometimes they give me ideas - "Gun For Hire" being one of them, kinda like Eric's song filtered through a differen...

Ha - hah! (said in suitably dramatic tone)

The gremlins have been evicted from my computer - if you feel sorry for them, please feel free to give them a home - and the soundcard scolded roundly for resetting itself. I dunno, play that film AI ...

Bad day at Black Rock

Black day. Bloody Tuesdays - should be banned. This is when only music is enough... I would heal the world if I could. Trouble is the next day I'd turn around and say "Okay, leave me alone now." So th...
