I HEART KITTIES

About Me

www.lisalavin.net. Please please please please please please don't ask me to be your friend when I don't know who you are. I don't need hundreds of friends for validation. If you want to talk, send a message, those are welcome.. for the most part.Also... if you're promoting your band, send a message, I won't add a band to my friends list that I haven't even heard of just because you want people to hear about you. That's stupid.

My Interests

Music, Morbid, macabre, gritty, gothic art, medieval woodcuts, dadaism, multi-media art, collage, drawings, box art (Artists: Rembrandt. Bosch. Durer. Bruegel. Caravaggio. Beardsley. Rauschenberg. Hausmann. Cornell, Boltanski), Anatomy, Medical apparatuses, Gothic Architecture, Antiques, Fashion (Alexander McQeen, Ann Demeulemeester, Rick Owens, Christian Lacroix, Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Coccapani), Old school vans, Food.. those pear-apple hybrids are fucking ingenious. Mustaches, see, the word MUST is in there, and that they are. http://americanmustacheinstitute.org/

I'd like to meet:

Considerate, appreciative people.

Music:

Queens of the Stone Age, Depeche Mode, Slayer, Old Metallica, The Smiths, Roxy Music, The Misfits, Samhain, Danzig, Minor Threat, The Clash, Darkthrone, Converge, Hookers, Budgie, Swing Kids, The Mars Volta, The Arcade Fire, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Ella Fitzgerald, Pulp, Motorhead, Total Fury, Venom, Witch's Hammer, Tragedy, The Holy Mountain, His Hero is Gone, Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Voivod, Inepsy, Thin Lizzy, Master's Hammer, Mike Patton, Motley Crue, G 'n R.

Movies:

Mostly scary movies but I also really really enjoy 80's fantasy movies for kids.. you know all those movies that were really weird and creepy. Return to Oz, Nosferatu ('22), Metropolis, Dark Victory, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Seven, Amelie, Beetlejuice, The Neverending Story, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Life is Beautiful, Brothers Quay moviesl, Faerie Tale Theatre Series, Deadman, When a Stranger Calls, Faust, Anchorman, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Happiness, Kill Bill 1, The Legend of Hell House ('78), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Rear Windw, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, The Vanishing ('88), Midnight Cowboy, Serpico.

Television:

Dexter,Planet's Funniest Animals, Cold Case Files, Autopsy, Medical Detectives. I like the ones where they show actual dead bodies in a tasteful non-exploitive manor and blood spatter experts explaining evidence after they spray cleaned up blood with luminol so that with a special light you can see where the blood had been. Then there was this show that explained how an old doctor who had taken care of a woman with tuberculosis fell in love with her and obsessed over her after she died. He visited her mausoleum frequently to administer embalming fluids so she would stay in tact so that later he could take her home, paint her face with wax as it deteriorated to look like a china doll, inserted a tube in her so he could have sex with her then killed himself so they could ultimately be together. And there was this other one about a mother who basically tortured her daughters by shooting one of them, leaving her in a bathtub, taking out the bullet herself with an exacto knife, locking her in a closet, and making the other daughter clean up the mess of her decomposing sister's body, then forcing her son(s) to take the body to a field to dispose of, among other disturbing things. (I don't advocate this behavior, I am just fascinated with the things "crazy" people do to others). Oh yeah, Curb Your Enthusiasm is good too.

Books:

Ellroy, Bukowski, John Kennedy Toole. I am picky.

Heroes:

Great musicians.
