I like to find the extraordinary through the ordinary. I love yoga, I try and practice everyday. It's a metaphor for everything in life. I don't drink or smoke. I love walking and thinking. I love Sundays. I love Barton Springs at the end of the afternoon/early evening. I love the ocean, probably more that anything in the world...especially that feeling when you're near the ocean and you can't see it, but you can feel it...that magnetic pull. I love Portugal. I love Paris. I love San Francisco. I LOVE film...especially directors that focus on sight and sound to tell stories...plot is not as important to me as is the ability of the director to put me in a time and place, to hypnotize me. I love my neighborhood that has Daly Juice, Barton Springs, Flipnotics, Alamo Drafthouse, Casa De Luz, Town Lake, and Yoga Yoga all within walking distance. I love music of all kinds, it exists in every fiber of my conscience and subconscience. I love kombucha, kale, spirulina, wheatgrass, all types of ethnic foods...especially Thai, Ethiopian, and Indian. I love tea, especially African Roobios and Chai. I like it when a smell reminds you of something from 20 years ago, and it almost brings you to your knees because it brought back feelings from places in your mind you didn't know still had them. I love cityscapes at 4am, when no one is out and the silence is almost deafening. I miss bike riding around with Kam at night in South Austin. I'm a vegetarian and recently gave up caffeine. I love staring into someones eyes that you love so much that everything around you fades away and it seems like you're rocking back and forth on some boat in uncharted seas from long ago...you know the kind of stare I'm talking about...the kind where you nod your head ever so subtely and silently with an uncontrolled tiny smile of epiphany...the kind where you both aknowledge without words that the moment is perfect. I love the fact that as I write this outside in my hammock, I see that my roomate has planted flowers in a dead hollowed-out tree stump, giving it a new serene dignity. I love my friends, and I miss them...almost all but two have left Austin in the past half year and one of those is moving in a month as well. I love the sound of creaking trees and the distant muted sound of crashing waves as you lie with your head buried in your towel on some remote beach. I love people that have found their peace..they truly are beautiful and inspire me to be a better person...I struggle with this daily. I aspire to create art, return love to those that love and have loved me, be less selfish, find peace, and to ascend. .................................Love: There is only this.
