I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a 54 year-old college psychology professor. I have 4 children, two natural and two adopted, all grown. I'm an empty nester and never realized how unnaturally quiet it can get without the kids around. Man do I ever miss them! Our youngest adopted daughter has Down's Syndrome and will always be with us, but she is so easy to parent, a wonderful person. I believe myself to be a friendly, kind, warm and sensitive person. I love people of all kinds and enjoy working with them. Teaching is my niche and I love it. I have a sense of humor and love joking around. Life is too short to get an ulcer over it! I enjoy hiking, camping, photography, painting landscapes in oils, beekeeping, amateur radio (Ham), and living history reenacting. I'm an avid fan of early american history. I desire friends, not romance. If I had to describe the kind of person I am, I would have to say that I am sensitive, love people, kind hearted. I'm a bit quiet and shy when I first meet someone new, but open up quickly when I get to know them. I am impulsive sometimes. I am calm and I seldom lose my temper. I do become angry, but I would rather discuss our differences than to waste time yelling. That only drives people further apart and prevents them from listening to each other.
