I am here for Friends

About Me

"her value... far above rubies and
pearls..."
*Each day is full of constant curveballs and soul-searching, but out of my most vulnerable and defenseless periods often come the most valuable lessons of character, spiritual sharpening and insight to the questions that weigh heavy on my heart.
*My name is Brittany McLaney.
*I am a christian, which I hope you know. If you don't...then I have failed.
*I love love love music...it is my life!
*I have the tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve...I also have the potential to be a complete airhead.
*I am extremely competitive and have been known to cheat to win!
*My cup of other people's drama runneth' over, so please don't refill it.
*I would have been friends with Stalin if he had a ping pong table.
*I try to live my life to the fullest, accepting each day as a new beginning.
*My friends and family are easily the best things in my life. I love them all with all my heart!
*I have accepted God's call on my life into the ministry, and it's proving to be an interesting journey!
*I value having a sense of humor- if you can make me laugh till my stomach hurts and i feel like i've done 200 crunches, you are golden in my book...
*I attend "Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, located on Straughn School Road. Join us this week as we celebrate God's amazing grace!" (a little faith break blurb there for ya...)
*I love the unexpected. But I also hate surprises.
*I need courage to make my love known.
*I screw up a lot, but I do my best to be a good person!
*I am just about the least judgmental person you will ever meet. In my opinion, it's not my place to judge you, I'll leave that up to God.
*If you make me laugh...you win!
*You can usually tell how i feel by my eyes...
*I wear sunglasses when I'm really scared.
*Simple things keep me entertained. I am a very complex person, but that side of me only seems to come out every so often...
*I am completely random.
*I like making you smile.
*I sing when i am truly happy.
*I will probably love you.

“Almighty God, unto whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid; Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of thy Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love thee, and worthily magnify thy holy Name.”
- The Collect, BCP
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

What's your theological worldview?

You scored as Emergent/Postmodern

You are Emergent/Postmodern in your theology. You feel alienated from older forms of church, you don't think they connect to modern culture very well. No one knows the whole truth about God, and we have much to learn from each other, and so learning takes place in dialogue. Evangelism should take place in relationships rather than through crusades and altar-calls. People are interested in spirituality and want to ask questions, so the church should help them to do this.

I'd like to meet:

My savior. One day. I can't wait to see Him in all of His Glory...saying "Welcome my child. Welcome home...friend."

We won’t solve all mysteries, and our hearts will certainly break in such a vulnerable life, but it is the best way. We were made to be lovers, bold in broken places, pouring ourselves out again and again until we are called home.
