About Me
The idea for W.O.G.Love (the W.O.G. stands for When One Gives) Records and Publishing came about in November/December of 2003, while founder Zach Marcotte was in the metal/hardcore band With All Sincerity. While on tour with With All Sincerity, Zach experienced some of the ups and downs of the music industry and business. In the down time between shows, long drives, and sleeping in their van, Zach found the time to complete his first short story, titled Written Ramblings, which was released on a small scale in December of 2005, and will be re-released by the kind folks at Publish America in the near future. Zach also dreamt of releasing a compilation on his own record label, whose proceeds would go to charity. In pursuing this, goals would include passionate efforts toward something attainable, longstanding, and worthwhile, with the key elements and ideas for the encouragement of diversity and unity, the promotion of awareness, and the shattering of negative stereotypes. In early 2004 With All Sincerity went on hiatus, leaving Zach and his friends/former band mates at an interesting turning point in their lives.Having been active in the San Antonio music scene for several years as a performer, photographer, video/cameraman, contributing writer for the EDGE Magazine (www.theedgemagazine.com), and a genuine fan of many San Antonio bands; Zach still thought about making his dream compilation come true, however; was hesitant because of finances, or lack thereof. Then it happened. The night Zach saw Girl in a Coma (www.girlinacoma.com) and Kubrick for the first time he knew then that it was time to make his dream of a compilation become a reality. Inspired by the talent and confidence these bands emitted, Zach went forward with his record label/publishing company idea with his own limited finances and credit cards. With the help of his good friend, Orlando Villasenor - producer/engineer - at Everlong Recording Company in San Antonio, TX, Zach began inviting a wide variety of musicians to record their music for an upcoming compilation to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This is how the W.O.G.Love Records first release Caring Through RocknRoll Number One was born.In 2005, Caring Through RocknRoll Number One generated $1,000.00 in sales and show earnings which were donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Lone Star Chapter. In 2006, proceeds from Written Ramblings sales went to the purchase of gift items (wash clothes, lotions, and hair accessories) for Mothers Day for the women of the SAMMinistries Emergency Services, a shelter offering hope to the homeless in San Antonio, TX.The latest W.O.G.Love Records endeavor is the signing and release of San Antonio based id and their latest CD titled RE:EVOLUTION. Proceeds from the sale of this release will benefit the International Primate Protection League, an organization established in 1973 that has been working continuously in all areas for the well-being of primates.
