One off UK Placebo show confirmed!
Placebo will play an intimate one off London warm-up show on Wednesday 7th March 2007 at The Coronet Theatre, Elephant + Castle, London, before the band head off to play dates inSouth America.Tickets will be limited to two per person, and will go on sale from 9am on Friday 16th February 2007. Details on where you can purchase tickets to follow early next week, keep checking Placeboworld.

Placebo confirm first Mexico date for 2007
Placebo have just confirmed their first date in Mexico for 2007. They are playing in Monterrey, Mexico, at the Arena Monterrey venue on Wednesday March 14th.

USA - Placebo have just been confirmed to play the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Empire Polo Field, Indio, California. They are set to play on Sunday, April 29, 2007. Tickets are due to go on sale 27th January at 10am

You can see Placebo being interviewed on Swedish TV channel TV4 on Wednesday 24th January. It will be aired on TV4 morning show, start 06:15 and TV4 news, start 20.00 CET

As promised, we're letting you know that Placebo's cover of the Kate Bush classic 'Running Up That Hill', picked to feature in the first episode of the new season of The OC, which will be broadcast on T4 this coming Sunday lunchtime at 2:55pm

Placebo announce first show for 2007
Placebo have just announced they will play in Chile in March. The show is now on sale (more details to follow) and will take place at the 32,000 capacity, Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago, Chile, on 30th March 2007. More shows for Mexico and South America are to be announced very shortly on Placeboworld .

Placebo refill thier meds!
Virgin Records is re-releasing Meds, the album was originally released in the U.S. earlier in 2006 through the Astralwerks label.
It will add three songs not on the original release, "Lazarus", "UNEEDMEMORETHANINEEDU," and their cover of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill"

Uk support acts confirmed!
PlaceboWorld have confirmed that both Archie Bronson Outfit and Howling Bells will support Placebo on the 4 date UK tour in December.
Archie Broson outfit will open the shows in Glasgow and Nottingham with Howling Bells to follow, while the shows in London and Manchester will kick off with Howling Bells followed by Archie Bronson Outfit.

Virgin Radio Xtreme will be running a 'Placebo Day' on 9th October'. They will be playing past singles, album tracks, session tracks & old interviews throughout the course of the day, & will run competitions for the special edition on-air, & through their website. They have also asked their listeners to vote for their top 5 Placebo tracks, which they will then put out at the end of the day.

URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT - LILLE SHOW POSTPONED!
Placebo have had to postpone the first show of their arena tour in Lille this Friday night (29th September) due to illness. Brian came down with severe tonsillitis on Sunday night, but was released from hospital this morning and is fighting to be fit for saturdays show. Check Placeboworld for more details.
Pfww sends plenty of 'get well' hugs to Brian and hope he recovers quickly.

As many of you may know there has been a film crew following both Placebo and Franz Ferdinand around thier recent festival shows. This will be shown tonight on the French channel Arte. For a preview of the gig and behind the scenes footage click here

Xtaster fan video competition
Xtaster are giving thier street team members (and wanderers onto the Xtaster site) the chance to be part of a fan video for the Placebo single Meds.
They want you to record video footage of either you singing along to Meds, something that reflects the content/lyrics of the song, or anything at all that the song inspires in you, and email it to them.
At the end, they will edit the best clips together, in sync to the music, and put it up on Youtube for all to see! It will also be avaliable to use as part of your street team duties to help promo Placebo!

Stef plays bass in new sideline!
Its now confirmed by Richard Z Kruspe the guitarist of Rammstein, who is funding the project, that Stefan will play bass for a new band called Emigrate. The band will also include members of Clawfinger and KMFDM.

10th ANNIVERSARY RE-ISSUE OF DEBUT ALBUM
On 18th September, Placebo will release a 10th anniversary re-mastered version of their classic eponymous debut which will also include demo’s, b-sides and a DVD with live footage and promo videos.
This will be released in the US 3rd October
