About Me

I'm kind of a dork, actually. I like Sci-Fi, Anime and Super-Heroes. I get all misty-eyed over really good Zombie Movies. I have a crush on Sesshomaru. I love mermaids and want to believe that they're real. I want to find the lost city of Atlantis. I believe in Aliens and Extra-Terrestrial life forms and I believe they've been here before. My ultimate dream would be to take a ride on the Space Shuttle and orbit the Earth for a few days.
I believe there is more to us than just our physical shell. I believe in the energy centers of the body (chakras) and the auras surrounding it. I believe in the power of Will and the Human Mind. I believe that we all become universal bodies of light and one with the Cosmos (or Source) upon our completion of our cycles through this material dimension. I prefer the Mythology of the Ancient Egyptian's and have studied their symbols and stories for over a decade.
I am moved and inspired by the works of Maynard James Keenan, Dion Fortune, Aleistar Crowley, Bill Hicks and Norman Mailer. I think Carlos Mencia is f'in Hillarious. I understand the underlying message in Kevin Smith's Films.
I have a strange fascination with Celebrities. I love the Entertainment Industry and can't help myself when it comes to Celebrity Gossip. I enjoy downloading pictures of actors/actresses and familiarizing myself with the casts and crews of movies.
I have a wonderful Husband, two adorable sons, a large and supportive family and an amazing group of friends. I have been called a dreamer, a communist, a conspiracy theorist, a fanatic, a geek, a dork and a pirate.
But you can call me Meri...

My Interests

Egyptology
Computers
Films
Books
Creative Writing
And the work of Maynard James Keenan.

I'd like to meet:

If I said Maynard James Keenan would you be surprised? I would also like to meet Mary Magdalene. I have a few questions that only she can answer. I think it would be terribly fascinating to sit down to a long lunch with Mary Magdalene, Dion Fortune and Aleister Crowley. Aditionally I would like to meet Norman Mailer because I would love to have a talk with him about "Ancient Evenings" and the wonderful world he brought to life. But in closing, I must say that I would really like to meet myself in my past lives. I am curious to know what it is I have been up to all of these years since leaving Egypt, perhaps that will shed some light on what I have in store for my future here.

OH RA!

Where has my Sun gone? He was here just a few days ago. I’m sure of it. Shining down in bursts of springtime hoping. Warming my skin with his kiss. Enveloping me in his golden arms. Oh Ra, how I...

My Perspective

Just for fun, I took some lyrics that I knew and put them together to show my current state of mind and perspective as of late. Bonus points to anyone who figures out the "artist". (The fact that I lo...

Dangerous Ideas

I'm a Radical. Or, at least, that's what they tell me. Some have even said Terrorist. I don't blame them. After all, my ideas are pretty terrifying.   I have this vision of a Utopian Island Nati...

Zombie Musings

As always during this time of year, my thoughts naturally turn to Zombies and hordes of Undead roaming the Earth. As in many years past, I often find myself contemplating the mindless masses blindly s...

Tooth or Dare

Sometimes it's hard to be the Mom. When you're the one that's hurt or sick, you still have to take care of everyone else first. It's been a good learning experience though, in that I have continued to...

The End of an Era

In the early hours of the morning, DV8 burned to the ground. It had been vacant for awhile now, couple of years I'm guessing. But it was sad for me to truly see it gone. DV8 was the bar I went to on m...
