Saying "Totally", Cheese/Queso, tv on dvd, ironic greeting cards, being in the same city as Randy, having too many magazines, "bad music", circular logic, Corbin Huntin', collar poppin', viral marketeering, candle holders for the wall, Malibu, childhood sports and pastimes, a yummy burger, buying clothes I can't afford and will probably only wear once, jeans that don't rip in the butt after owning them for 3 months, unicorns, singalongs, ghost ridin' the whip, the frozen section at Trader Joes, Sharon's Coconut Sorbet, pen pals, my Blockbuster Rewards card.
I want to meet people who are REAL and like to have FUN. I want low drama and maximum impact. Also, people who aren't afraid to come to me themselves when they have a problem, not going around making assumptions and gossiping about me while I'm 3000 miles away. (David)Corbin of Maui Fever. First and foremost, I think that the new Beck material is overrated and unimpressive. My two eternal loves are Radiohead and Top 40 Hip Hop. Also...Juana Molina, Autolux, Peter Bjorn & John, Girl Talk, Yeasayer, Fridge, Asobi Seksu, Ken Andrews and his miscellaneous projects (yes, even Year Of The Rabbit), Beach House, Jimmy Edgar, Joseph Arthur, T.I., DEERHUNTER, BHBEs, E-40, Psapp, Bjork, Steely Dan, Gaslamp Killa', The Verve, Alias (sans Ehren), THE KILLERS, Corbin from Maui Fever, Hot Chip, Aimee Mann, Cadence Weapon, Lake Trout, Amon Tobin, Jose Gonzalez, cLOUDDEAD, Massive Attack, Coltrane, Boards of Canada, My Heart Between Us, Royksopp, Broken Social Scene, Dani Siciliano, TV On The Radio, a Tribe Called Quest, Perch, Entrance, Kings of Convenience, Pretty Ricky, Lil' Wayne, Aphex Twin, Sabertooth Tiger, DJ Shadow, Genesis, The Who, Max Richter, The Doobie Brothers, the Four Tet DJ Kicks album, R KELLY, Portishead, John Maus, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Hal Karp, Ulrich Schnauss, Spank Rock, Adelitas Way, Mylo, Plastic Little, the Spoon re-issues, Mum, Broadcast, MBV, Laurie Anderson (thanks, Kyle and Ryan!), DJ Krush, anything from Germany, Electrelane, Four Tet, Junior Boys, Mizar, Scott Barnes, DJ Suicide Bridge for playing all mope classics all the time, and that live National recording that Robot Mark sent me. Keep it lite.
"I tell everyone it's Red Dawn, but really it's You've Got Mail ." I like watching trailers, childhood classics, teenybopper classix, anything with Will Ferrell, Haack: King of Techno, most things that are only available on VHS, films about spirituality and magic (magic-magic not like "magik"), and anything by Michael Bay. Basically, I like to torture myself.
THE L WORD, Project Runway, Maui Fever, Pants-off Dance-off, Da Ali G Show, The OC (seasons 1 and 2), Degrassi, Six Feet Under, Oprah, Sex and the City, Those Dateline "To Catch an Internet Predator" specials, Heroes, Current.tv, Gay Straight or Taken, Freaks and Geeks/Undeclared, MTV's Undressed, Lifetime Original Movies, Flavor of Love/I Love NY and Weeds. I just finished reading Smashed, so I've moved onto delving deeper into No Brow, Lunar Park, Bad Music: Music People Love To Hate, Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting (thanks Michelle), Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (keep it to yourself jerks), This Band Could Be Your Life, and the Holographic Universe. I've also taken up reading up on astrology and numerology.
Judd Apatow, Mr Boston from I Love New York, MIMS, people that wake up feeling like potatoes, David Leslie-Skaller, and Ellen Degeneres. Anyone strong enough to change their perspective on life.
