all the cool kids are diabetic

About Me

Paramedic and aspiring photographer. A music and film geek...we won't even talk about the crap that makes the radio top 40.
A lot of people feel they have something to say, but it's a lot of noise and wasted time. I don't like wasting my time.
I have a horrible obsession with anything vintage. And by vintage I mean the 40's and 50's. It sits in my mind as a more refined time. I wear fedoras and suit jackets, and hold doors for ladies. I like to think I can swing dance, but in all reality I have two terminally left feet.
It's not uncommon to find me aimlessly driving at 3 in the morning, fighting insomnia, more often than not trying to find a chinese restuarant or decent coffee. I realize coffee probably isn't the best thing for someone with a sleep pattern like mine, but you get to see a side of the city that's hidden to most people who sleep their nights away.
Condos are ruining the architecture of most cities. It's sad to think that the most visual history of any place is destroyed because designers don't like the look of hundred year old buildings.
Peanutbutter sandwiches and I have a torrid love afair. We often talk of running away to a place where a dry sense of humour is appreciated, and dream of having delicious children with blackberry hair and white bread bodies.
I miss living in Vancouver more than I miss the normal functions of my pancreas, but I've learned to deal with both.

My Interests

Photography,
manipulating pixels,
applying bandages,
checking my blood sugar and shooting insulin,
people interested in being aware of the world around them, not necessarily afraid to speak their mind about it either.
Bettie Page haircuts and 40's fashion,
pin-up girls,
piercings,
tattoos,
intelligence, and the ability to roll a joint.

I'd like to meet:

Hunter S. Thompson
Joe Perry and Steven Tyler (circa 1986)
Matthew Good (done)
George Strombolopolous
John Belushi
my grandparents
my sister

Anyone who realizes that the skyline of Vancouver looks much better in brick and masonry with a big red W, than chrome and glass.
Interested in meeting and networking with other photographers, media designers, and medics.

Oh, yeah, girls too, I guess.
