DADDY MAKY BIOBIOGRAPHY:. DADDY MAKY s interested in music since 17 with a clear major interest and taste for R E G G A E music.. During his youth he works his voice, texts, and confirms his art for a very strong inspiration from his two masters BOB MARLEY and BUJU BANTON.. In Dakar he starts performing with PAPE NIANG very talented senegaleese artist.. Meets LION T and create his first band AFRICAN STYLE.. In 1996 begins a School Tour which stands the start of RAP music in Dakar. AFRICAN STYLE meets the singer HENRY P and the rapper SOUNDIATA and then becomes the famous V I B band.. Very strong tour in all Senegal, spotted by all medias who are astonished by the charm and the personality of the band.. In 1997, VIB is best hope for HIP-HOP music at the french cultural center «Révolution HIP-HOP CCF» contest.. The same year VIB opens for the bands RAGGA SONIC and KMEL.. In 1998 VIB opens «La Nuit du Rap» at the french cultural center for the bands KDD and TRIBAL JAM.. That same year VIB records their first album: « SURGIT DES DECOMBRES » autoproduction at Studio de La Bastille in Paris and sell more than 8.000 copies.. In 2000 follows a Senegaleese and International mega tour. VIB opens for LUCKY DUBE at the African Festival of Zurich.. Support act for STEEL PULSE .Open air at the giant Stadium of Dakar. 2001 is a meditation year for VIB.. DADDY MAKY decides to work on another hobby and passion for the film business and leaves for London, then for Birmingham and consecrate all his time for cinema.. Still Tour on the side with the Sound System: «RAS FIRE CREW».. After 4 years abroad, he comes back to Senegal to release his first Solo album : «SOCIAL LIVING» rich in Reggae Roots Dancehall. Futuring famous artists such as NIX, KEITY, XUMANand FAFADI and COUNTRYMAN from AKIBOULANE band and STAN the singer of IRIS AND THE LIONS band from Nancy, who produced the album .. Month tour in Birgmingham, Leiceister.. Support for ABYSSIMIANS in Brighton.. Back in Dakar, DADDY MAKY performs live with AKIBOULANE band in different clubs such as : Just 4 U, Le Central Park,Universities of Dakar, at the big AKRIKAKEURfestival. 2005-DADDY MAKY performs at AFRIKAKEUR festival June 5th in Dakar at a huge open air festival in front of 8.000 persons support for the two french artists Disiz la Peste and les Negs Marrons.. Belongs to the «Nostalgie Radio»s favourite atists, therefore programed June 21 rst 2005 at the Fete de la Musique festival for the 10 YEARS ANNIVERSARY of the radio Nostalgie with DAARA J, DAKAR ALL STARS,DOUGY TEE and THIONE SECK.. December 2006- invited to perform for the International film festival of Dakar at the Sorano Theater and on a huge open air in the main center of town in front of more than 8.000 people; Performs support act for TIKEN JAH FAKOLY at the IBA MAR STADIUM. 2006 - DADDY MAKY works on his personnal projects in order to develop more promo for his album and to create his own band with new musicians for futur concerts and tours.
