"Tynan Phillips is becoming one of the most power house performers of his day. Slow at first, but stretching the bounds of music with his ever developing style!"At home Tynan grew up listening to classic rock, blues, and R & B, taking in countless classic musical styles from Earth Wind & Fire, Steve Vai, Ray Charles, John Mayer, Eric Sardinas, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, The Grateful Dead, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Chet Atkins, Junior Brown, Ben Harper, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Joe Pass, D'jango Reinhardt, Raul Midon, Steely Dan, Keb' Mo', Joss Stone, Susan Tedeschi, Etta James, Janis Choplin, Ana Popovic, Diana Bogart Heather Elkin, Aretha Franklin, Edie Brickel, Marsha Ball and beyond. Ty got a late start in the ways of the guitar, however, at the ripe age of 14. The only lessons he was exposed to were from what he heard on the musical charts, it was something he just came naturally to emulating. After learning enough to cover the footsteps of the blues greats, Ty recorded his first CD at 16 entitled "Prince of the Blues," a tribute CD, which was never released.Age 17 would be a step further in reaching somewhat of a name. Playing all over California and Nevada and opening for Big Advice (members include Juan Nelson and Ben Harper), Eric McFadden, and Wally Ingram.Tynan almost lost his life just before his 18th birthday in a car crash involving a bridge, a front flip, and a broken spine. Too much was left unsung and unwritten, so God saw him through countless times of being told "You'll never walk again!"Age 18 Came all too fast after physical therapy, but Ty never put down his guitar. May called for a new CD of his own material entitled, "The Path I Choose.""This CD is a perfect representation of my life in which the lyrics are the lessons, but like life, every piece is still being changed and re-worked." - Tynan Phillips 06'So, it is with great pleasure and tremendous pride that I introduce to you Tynan Phillips, just scratching the surface of all that is to become…
