About Me
-------------------First of all, I would like to thank each and everyone of you out there, who take the time to stop by my page and leave comments, download my music, be my friend, or just listen!"JD" I was born and raised in Yonkers N.Y. I come from an extremely musical family, my dad who is my biggest inspiration, besides my mom, was an Italian singer; he played the guitar and the accordion, although he passed when I was very young I keep his music and dream alive through me. My brother's and sister who are musically inclined listen to anything from Doobie Brothers, Stevie Wonder, to Michael Jackson and the Beegees. Ever since I could remember, music has always been inside me, there for me, and around me. My first memory is when I was nine in school, and my teacher was absent so they broke us up into two classes. Anyway they stuck me in the back with a record player and some head phones, and my "Cherie amore" by Stevie Wonder, so I put on the heads and started singing and the whole class heard me, I was really embarrassed, the teacher said "Joe you have a beautiful voice but you cant sing out loud." I started writing poems at the age of 10, which turned into writing songs. I wrote my first song at the age of 13, "lonely hearts" lol, still remember every word... a few years later a&m records had a national audition for a group which I got, along with a TV show deal with paramount pictures. We moved out to la, and did some stuff for MTV, Nickelodeon, although it did not work out like I had planned, it taught me a great deal about music, business and friendship, since then I have been writing and performing every chance I get, working with artists like case, kandice love, and movie soundtracks, like prison song (mary j blige, q tip) and Johnson family vacation, (sedrick the entertainer and Vanessa Williams)... i also just finished acting and singing in an idependent film about a 50's doowop singer...I still have so much to say, and will continue to create every chance I get. I wanted to write this bio myself because I wanted people to know how genuine I really am. I have been through a great deal in my life, and it has made me the man I am today, I am humbled and amazed by the little things in life that people seem to forget and everything I write and sing as an artist comes from the soul through experiences in life, love and inspiration. So I hope you will feel the passion, laughter, sadness, and honesty the way I do when I am creating this... I probably left out a million things I wanted to say, but hey, I'm an artist, I will just come back and fix it when I remember. Anyway enjoy everyone... DREAM, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE!!!
