Ninet Tayeb (born October 21, 1983, in Kiryat Gat, Israel) is an Israeli rock singer and the winner of the 2003 "Kokhav Nolad", the Pop Idol of Israel. In 2003, during her service in the Israeli army, Ninet went to the audition of the new reality TV show Kokhav Nolad. In August 28th, 2003, she won the first place with more than 49% of the votes, over 720,000 votes, after singing "Yam Shel Dma'ot" [A sea of tears]. In 2004 Ninette started acting the leading role in the daily musical drama (telenovela) HaShir Shelanu . Her character, Ninet Levy, was a young girl from Kiryat Gat who came to Tel Aviv wishing to find a job. In 2005 the second season of Our Song was filmed and Tayeb won "The actress of the year" prize for her role in the series. In 2004 she also participated in the Israeli Children Festival. Ninet first album called "Yechefa" [Barefoot] produced by the singer and song writer Aviv Geffen. The album itself was realesed on September the 7th 2006, and recieved a gold certificate only 24 hours afterwards for selling more than 20 thousands copies.
