Just An Average Joe Who Loves To Play Guitar

About Me

I have been playing guitar for 24 years now. It's been a long road, and there is still so much to learn. Like many people who pick up an instrument, they were influenced by someone to play their instrument of choice. My influneces are varied. From big names like Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, Joe Perry, and Warren DiMartini, to local Indianapolis musicians who in one way or another have helped shape where I am now. (Whether in the past or just recently.) These people include Dino Codalata, Troy Seele, Shawn Kern, Mike Osborn, Bill and Jason Hayes, and Orvis Kirkman. I love to play whenever and whereever I can. It's a rush. I may not be Steve Vai on the guitar, but I still love the instrument. I also play guitar for the local Indianapolis band Common Ground. Come out and check us out and say "Howdy"

Sounds Like: I really hate to toot my own horn. I’m sure the people I have idolized have come out in my playing at one time or another. I think I just sound like myself. Isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be? If everybody souned like ____________ (insert guitarist name) then the world would be a dull place. I play music because I love to. Plain and simple. It’s a God given gift, that I’m thankful for.

Neal Schon

Wow!  I know that Neal Schon has been around for awhile. But, as of today he is my new favorite guitarist. He's flashy, he's melodic, and can make his guitar sing. I just bought the new Journey d...
