About Me

Believe it or not I use to be a ballet dancer. I danced since I was three years old up until about eighteen. I attended public school in my hometown of Belmont through freshman year of high school before I transfered to a private school for the performing arts called Walnut Hill. I auditioned for the school just for the experience of taking a class there, not believing I would actually be accepted. At the same time I was taking one of my first visual art classes at Belmont High, discovering something else I liked to do but knew little about. The acceptance to Walnut Hill came as such a shock that I felt I just had to attend, leaving behind the opportunity of traveling to Paris with the BHS art department for dance. Although in recent years I dropped dancing for visual art, I have no regrets about the years I spent at Walnut Hill. I danced in several amazing performances and even choreographed my own piece for student choreography senior year. I feel as though I already know what it would be like to be in a company, and although it would be wonderful, it would be a short career leading to becoming dance teacher (something i'd rather not become). So I applied to Mass Art as a graphic designer, since that is where most good paying jobs are in the communication arts. However, where my heart truly lies is in illustration, and that brings me up to my present decision to switch majors for the spring semester. After much confusion I am finally beginning to do what I really enjoy, but that doesn't mean I don't miss dancing.
