I was born and raised in Minneapolis. I grew up on the north side of Minneapolis (1600 block of Penn Avenue) and came to Hawaii in 1980. I am African American on my father's side and part Native American on my mother's side. I have spent more then half my life in the Islands, but my heart still remains in Minneapolis! Do not get me wrong I love the Islands, but I still miss home and all my friends I grew up with. My family means the world to me!!! I have four children and three grandchildren. Also, five brothers and four sisters. It's funny but my father has become the head of his own United Nations. His grandchildren encompasses many nationalities: African American, Thai, Hawaiian, Filipino, Native American, Mexican, Japanese, Puerto Rican, Portuguese, Samoan, French, German, Dominican, Italian, Chinese and if I forgot any, please forgive me. Can you imagine the ono grinds : ) I love Soul food, Hawaiian and Thai food! My favorites! But I also enjoy Mexican, Filipino, Puerto Rican and all of the above nationalities. I write poetry in my spare time and at one point was a good chess player and swimmer. Oh, and I love to dance, go white water rafting and rent a car and go traveling cross country!
