I am a dj, yes a dj. I am the 1st female dj on the swat team and jersey only female dj holdin' it down for the lady's. I know it's hard to believe,but the girl is nice! I would say that it is my second heart beat. As it goes I go. I have grown with the music I love and have had a chance to expand my 1st love. Through out the years Jess has watched the music industry change go from East to West to the dirty South dominating. “ Everybody gets their time in the sun.” Right now the South is doing it big and I believe that record label are looking for that next hot record or dance to come out of the South so they can capitalize on it.” She admits that at times it hard to win over a New York crowd with these songs. “ Sometime I just play what I know is going to get the ladies on the floor.” In New York it’s hard to get away with just any song so whatever that record it has to hit across the board.” With new songs coming out every day she admits that it is difficult to date. “Most guys just don’t understand. They think just because I’m home on a random night I’m not busy. I’m always listening to a new record or mp3 or thinking of a hot mix. I want to be on the top of my craft and with that I decided to dedicate myself to increasing my knowledge. I don’t just listen nor play Hip Hop. I’m able to reach the masses. It really just depends on where I’m playing that night. It’s not easy but I make it work. I’m able to give everyone a piece of my musical culture.” She admits growing up being a tomboy and wanting to do whatever the guys were doing in her neighborhood in New Jersey. “I was very heavy into sports and I still stay in shape. I believe that’s important. As talented as I am musically the first thing that guys notice is that I’m a female so right away I have to prove myself. It’s cool. I’m use to it. Guys that I grew up with are sometimes shocked to see me out in the clubs playing the music that they are partying to. Even though they see my picture on the flier they may still just remember me as the Jess the girl that use hang out with the neighborhood guys.” She has worked hard to not just be another pretty face. This turntable temptress works to improve her skills every day. Digging through crates, calling record labels to build relationships and going to record auctions to make sure that she has rare music. “ Sometimes it’s about the element of surprise. Even though I’m in the booth I’m being watched. I need to know what’s hitting from top 40 to R&B to those exclusive remixes.” Diamonds are some girls best friends, but i'll take CASH!Soulja Boy - Crank That (Official Music Video Premier)
