2003:
Adrian Meier (guitar) and Philippe Stalder (drums) founded the Drunken Shrimps in spring 03. They were influenced by Jimi Hendrix and several others 60’s Blues Rock bands. The first songs were written and played in the bandroom in Obererägeri (ZG) and at some concerts around Zug.
At this time the band was urgently in need of a bass. That’s why Martin Riesen (bass) left his old band and joined the shrimps in summer 03.2004:
The new year seemed to be born under a bad sign: in the night of the 4th of January their bandroom burned down. That’s why they moved into a bandroom in i45 which is a youth centre in Zug. At the same time Matthias Wild (keys) joined the band to complete the band’s sound.
After the band was thrown out of the youth centre, they found themselves in a nice bandroom in the oldtown of Zug in autum 04.2005:
One of the landlords of this new bandroom Aurel Hassler (vocals) liked the sound of the drunken shrimps that much, that he joined them after his military service in summer 05.2006:
But because the two other landlords didn’t like the shrimps as much as Aurel did, the band had to leave their bandroom in spring again. Searching for a room to stay for a longer time, they found a room in a barn on the Eiele farm in Oberwil (ZG) which was redecorated by the shrimps during the rest of the year.2007:
In February the room was finally finished and since then the shrimps are back again with some new stuff.
