Greetings!
ROCO wine, the private wine label of winemaker Rollin Soles is the result of twenty years of research, experience, and planning. In 2001 Rollin and his wife Corby Stonebraker-Soles planted 6 acres of their Yamhill Valley property to their small Wits’ End Vineyard. The vineyard, located on the southern slopes of the Chehalem Mountain Range AVA, is planted in high-density format, Willakenzie soils, and to a private selection of Dijon clones #777 and #667.
As the founder and winemaker at Argyle Winery, ROllin Soles has produced high quality wines for more than two decades. His recent decision to launch a private label with his wife COrby (ROCO) was inspired by the inherent quality of his estate-grown vineyard. Further, Rollin says, “I might need to retire someday and I plan to have some fun producing small production premium wines.†In the meantime Rollin remains dedicated to Argyle. In 2005 the Soles’ released their 2003 ROCO Pinot Noir Private Stash, which is the best clones and select barrels of the vintage. Only 99 cases were produced and sold exclusively through a private mailing list at $75 per bottle. The Wine Spectator gave the 2003 ROCO release a 91 score. ROCO wine is fermented in 1.5-ton fermenters and barreled in 50% new French oak at Argyle Winery. We at ROCO hope that you take an opportunity to try these fine wines and share in the experience that Rollin and Corby have spent many years preparing for you. Thanks for your interest!

I am a true pinot noir, not one of those thick cab like pinots that are comming out of Oregon these days. A little spice in the nose as I open up to a fruitfilled mouth, balanced perfectly with the sm... Posted by ROCO on Fri, 21 Jul 2006 01:43:00 PST
