The Weird Continental Types collaboration is made up of two of the most reputable yet overlooked talents of the noughties. Gaëtan and Barry, who are already known and admired amongst dance musics biggest names, should hardly need an introduction. The boys consolidated repertoire spans 17+ years of production, engineering and song writing with some of the finest artists in the industry.
Grammy nominated Barry Jamieson is best known as one half of Manchesters finest production, remix and performance outfits, Evolution. Along with the live act, Barry managed a label, produced and also remixed for a host of internationally renowned DJs including Sasha, John Digweed & BT.
Gaëtan Schurrer (aka naughty G), who is recognised for his outstanding musical and technical ability, programmed the majority of Sashas remixes in the nineties, and has contributed additional soundscapes, effects & noises to many DJ compilations, including the world-renowned Northern Exposure series.
Though their current work schedules mean the Weird Continental Types often find themselves on different sides of the Atlantic paddling pool, the Live software from Ableton has revolutionised the ways these guys work and removed geographical boundaries. It has enabled producers and engineers to collaborate as never before. All of a sudden no longer do producers, engineers and DJs need to share the same studio space.file sharing, general knob-tweaking and finishing touches can now take place without the producers even being on the same continent!
The combination of the duos raw talent and experience, doubled with this blinding technology has resulted in The Weird Continental Types ability to produce a truly unique sound where no two performances will ever be the same. These breaks masters have an undeniably unique touch that wets your lips and leaves you craving for more.make
