Kings in Hell - Servants in Heaven

About Me

So I dont know what to freakin say in this damn thing! I just know that everyone keeps bugging me to change it so I am here changing it. I'm 22, I like stuff, and things, and objects, and girls, and food, and people! Music is my life! Still in Korea. Not sure if I am going to stay in the Army or not...------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------John Rios is deeply perceptive. Remember the story of the Princess and the Pea? John could detect a lentil under a million mattresses. Not, you understand that John spends his time looking for things to criticise. Far from it, John goes out of his way to avoid finding fault. It's just that faults have a way of finding him. It is as if they walk up to him and tap him on the shoulder saying "John, look at me can't you see how badly made..designed..organised I am? Please put me out of my misery. For heavens' sake let someone know what is wrong with me and tell them how to put me right!" John Rios is a kind, sympathetic person who is always willing to help. How can he resist such a request? Reluctantly, for he knows it will cause controversy and he hates any form of conflict, he will come bravely to the aid of this poor little problem. Or so, at least that's how it seems to be. John Rios is a Virgo and all Virgos find themselves, for some inexplicable reason, being labelled 'fussy.' John, though is actually very broad minded, tolerant and far sighted. He can forgive a thousand transgressions and excuse a multitude of mistakes. You can take advantage of his endless good nature and generally abuse his willingness to be friendly without ever hearing so much as a word of complaint. If, though, as you walk all over John you commit the cardinal sin of leaving your shoelaces undone, you will soon hear sharp words of complaint. There is though, a reason why John is so often easy going, restrained, and liable to take the blame for things which are not his fault. Given his impeccable eye for detail, his infallible insight into other people, and his accurate good judgement he could soon end up ruling the world.

Anyone and everyone! If our mind is bound up in regret and unhappiness and we don't recognize its true nature, then we experience a state of unhappiness and see our mind and the minds of others as faulty. If, instead, we can rest in the true nature of the mind, then we will experience bliss and other qualities of the true nature. If we can meditate that way both now and in the future, then we are very fortunate, because this is the perfect meditation of vipashyana, or insight. It is also shamatha meditation, because we are resting in a state of peace, in the nature of bliss and other qualities of the mind."We spend a lot of time trying to nail everything down, concretizing, just trying to make everything solid and secure. We also spend a lot of time trying to dull or soften or fend off that vividness. When we awaken our hearts, we are changing the whole pattern, but not by creating a new pattern. We are moving further and further away from concretizing and making things so solid and always trying to get some ground under our feet. This moving away from comfort and security, this stepping out into what is unknown, uncharted, and shaky---that's called enlightenment, liberation. Krishnamurti talks about it in his book Liberation from the Known,Alan Watts in the Wisdom of Insecurity. It's all getting at the same thing.../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../ ../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../ ../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../ ../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../ ../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../This isn't how we usually go about things, in case you hadn't noticed. We usually try to get ground under our feet. It's as if you were in a spaceship going to the moon, and you looked back at this tiny planet Earth and realized that things were vaster than any mind could conceive and you couldn't just handle it, so you started worrying about what you were going to have for lunch. There you are in outer space with this sense of the world being so vast, and then you bring it all into this very tiny world of worrying about what's for lunch: hamburgers or hot dogs. We do this all the time."
