BIO -Leon Tomas, born in Philadelphia, PA on March 19, 1987, is a gifted singer, songwriter and pianist. A natural talent, having had no formal training. He was raised and nurtured in the Church, where he was in the choir and honed his skills. He regularly took part in many local talent contests and often took 1st place. He soon began performing with local groups, such as “Realityâ€, “The Philly Boyz†and “Six Floâ€. Now living in Atlanta, GA he is a solo artist looking to make his mark on the music scene.
His childhood idol and biggest musical influence was the late Donnie Hathaway and his favorite song being “A Song For Youâ€. He has developed a very soulful style of his own and looks to evoke the same kinds of deep emotions which his idol was famous for. It’s been said that his own style is a bit of Usher meets Donnie Hathaway.
The death of his cousin Dante had a profound effect on Leon and his focus in life. He was now determined to make a success of his life and endeavor to be more disciplined in his own life. He still lives by his mother’s words to him when she told him to “Never forget about family and stay humbleâ€.
Now having completed his debut CD entitled “Genesisâ€, Leon is ready to make his mark and change the face of Hip Hop and R&B. Leon wants to be a positive influence to young people everywhere and also wants to start a renaissance of the kind of real music that was so prevalent in the 60’s and 70’s. His new release is full of great songs that any true music lover will enjoy.
