Co-founder of Xeton Records UK, music producer and DJ Nic Carrington has seen it all during his career, playing in prestigious clubs throughout the UK and Europe.
Headhunted by Polydor Records in 1989, hes also helped promote global acts such as U2, Sting, Dina Carroll and Eminem. And not forgetting a record label and collaborations that led to 20 successful remixes with Sony, EMI and the Ministry of Sound.
Nic launched himself into the music world when he landed a job at Impulse Promotions doing PR for acts such as Kylie Minogue, Stone Roses and many more. After only two years with Impulse he moved to sales and promotions for one of Polygrams stand-alone labels, Polydor. He also enjoyed tie-ins with other Polygram companies including Island Records, FFRR, Mercury, Manifesto, London Records, A&M, and AM:PM. His experience at Polygram paved the way for his DJing and production career, becoming resident at Bournemouths legendary Succoso night at The Palace in 1995.
From 96 onwards, playing at virtually every club in Bournemouth and along the South Coast he soon became the top resident at the infamous Opera House home to Curious and Slinky. Teaming up with another well-known local DJ Paul Woodgate to create KlubdoctorZ, they remixed some of clublands most loved tunes such as Dario Gs Say Whats On Your Mind, Da Hool Love Parade, and Cosmic Gates Firewire.
In 2000, Nic headed Slinky Records A&R department, being heavily involved in the success of acts such as Public Domain, Cosmic Gate, Lisa Pin-Up, and Starchild.
Its now 2006, and Nic has now moved on to join forces with Dom Kane of BogsDollocks.net Music Promotions to launch Xeton Records. With the Xeton sound ranging from deep and techy Prog, to funked out Acid and Tech-House, Xeton Records have already licensed work out to other labels such as Riot Recordings (Eden Project Mummy), Instinct Records (DKB Give You), and Randomize Records (Dom Kane Revolution).
With the first few Xeton Records releases already being supported by the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Rui Da Silva, Colin Dale, Moshic, Ricky Stone, and many more, the label is tipped for instant success, and once youve heard them in action its easy to see why!
Now its 2007, an album mixed by Nic is to be released in Japan through Sony Music titled 'backbeat' which features his own release 'Puppets'.
