Two of my idols as a child were Olivia Newton-John and Annie. I adored them both and knew that one day I wanted to be a singer, or sing in an orphanage with my dog. My other records I cherished and were influenced by at that time were a collection of children’s Christian music (the "Music Machine" was a favorite) and Kids Incorporated- a television show with kids my age singing and dancing to rock and roll. I knew I could do that and therefore started my own band with my sister and best friend called “Glitter.†Even though we didn’t play any instruments, we sung our hearts out and made our own costumes, because even at a young age, it’s all about the image. Just like an episode of Kids Incorporated, we wrote skits and incorporated songs within them, performing for friends and family. I was also performing and singing in school plays, talent shows and church choir. At the age of 12 my parents bought my sister and I a huge speaker and amplifier, and two “real†microphones and stands to sing with, rather than our hairbrushes and fake mini mics. At that point it felt like my dream was starting to become more of a reality, and boy were we popular at school functions with that equipment! My passion for acting also developed more in high school and helped mold me into the performer I am today. During those years, I did school plays as well as community college theatre musicals including “Gypsy†and “West Side Story.†But it wasn’t until a couple years later that music really took over my life. I, along with my sister and friend formed a band called “Tilly’s Everywhere†and just like when we were kids – no one played any instruments, but we did have the passion and a dream. I was the lead singer of TE and six years later, we learned those instruments and played all over the Los Angeles area including the Sunset Strip, festivals and toured throughout Texas. We were even endorsed by Daisy Rock Guitars and Rocket Shell Drums! We thought we were on our way, however, the road to Tillys success sadly ended when the band broke up in 2004. As devastated as I was, I knew I still wanted to pursue music and worked on a self titled project called “Feeley.†With radio play overseas, I still continue to promote that project and have started a few others as well! Just recently I was included to be a gypsy on Volume 2 of “The Wild Band of Gypies†- a compilation cd of talented singers and songwriters. I am also doing background vocals on a few different albums for various artists and will soon be working on a full length album of my own to be completed by the end of this year! The experiences and challenges I have lived and learned has made me more determined to always continue doing what I love ~ Music!
