The Laughing Bones were originally formed with Rich Zimmerman from Slipstream on mandolin, Paul Watinas on upright bass, Mike Jeffries on dobro/slide guitar, and Dave Perron on vocals, rhythm guitar in 2002. Rich and Paul moved to Boulder to pursue Slipstream, (which if you haven't heard them yet you should), Dave found Patrick to play banjo. Somewhere in there we met Brian and he became our drummer. Luckily he knew Bob and Bob joined in Late '04. Mike has since moved to L.A., and that brings us to our current lineup, Dave Donahue on bass & multi-instrumentalist Joe Bianchi. Brian moved on to be a cowboy in Walden, CO in May '08. Luckily we have Jake Wolf from Shakedown Street fame filling in here and there on drums, or else you will catch Patrick stepping in.
Every year things seem to get a little bit bigger. We have played with Del McCoury Band, Bill Nershi & Honkytonk Homeslice, The Drew Emmitt Band, Dark Star Orchestra, Great American Taxi, The Young Dubliner's, The Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, and many local festival's. Not mention hundreds of headlining show's throughout Colorado. We're looking forward to continue growing and apprieciate all of our fans support!!
